Playing...

After seeing Bonnie Hunter's 'Words of Inspiration' this morning, I was like a dog possessed...going after that illusive SQUIRREL!  Under those words of inspiration was an antique nine patch quilt with a very unusual setting...and...I do have those random nine patches in a tote waiting patiently for an unusual setting!

I was on my hands and knees before I knew what hit me!  Playtime...

Now picture neutral rectangles and squares...OH heck...Just go over to Bonnie's and have a look at the original setting!  Great...eh?!  I need to tie some batting around my knees...this is a killer!  The things we quilters do!

Have a sunny Sunday (check:o) and happy stitching!~P  Now where's my bin of neutrals?

  1. When I first saw the small photo that was next to your blog name on my blog I thought you had sewn the top together using brown background fabric....LOL it was your floor. I checked out the quilt on Bonnie's blog. It is a beautiful quilt. Hugs

  2. I looked at the quilt you mentioned and am having trouble visually seeing the setting. I will just wait to see yours put together. You certainly have a lot of treasures tucked away.

  5. That is a lovely vintage nine-patch quilt on Bonnie's blog. Lucky you have those extra nine patches, they'll look fabulous in this design with the neutral squares and rectangles. Sorry about the knees, at least you can get down on the floor and back up.

  7. how good to have all those nine patch blocks hidden away might just start building up a stash for myself as I have loads of 2.5" squares put away somewhere

  8. Looks like the perfect solution for those block Paulette. Seeing them against the floor boards makes me think that a darker tan for the remaining blocks would be nice too.

  9. Sometimes you just get called into a project. Super nice that you had the nine patches just waiting It's a bummer crawling around on the floor. The knees do suffer big time.
