Rosie’s Calico Cupboard….

It just dawned on me that we haven’t finished our San Diego Shop Hop..we still have two shops to go to!!

Next up is Rosie’s Calico Cupboard! A word of advice…NEVER go to Rosie’s without a pattern in hand or a list of things that you are looking for!  I tell you, your mind turns to mush when you enter this shop!!

There is just too much….for instance in the following picture…straight ahead are the batiks…the whole far wall and under the table facing that wall!  On this side of the table you have flannels..and on the wall to the right (which you can’t see!!) Chances are if you are looking for flannels or batiks you are going to find them here!IMG_0344

This is the blue section…(yes, every colour has its own section!)  I found Sandy red faced, eyes glazed and hyperventilating in the green section…clutching two green bolts to her chest!  Asking me if it was the perfect shade….??

The “new release” section….

The Sales Room!  GREEN  LIGHT!!  GREEN LIGHT!!!  GREEN LIGHT!!

The kid’s section…minkie on the far wall!

The Christmas Section…followed by novelty prints!

Boggles the mind doesn’t it?!

YES, there were quilters shopping...lots of quilters!  It’s funny how when you bring out a camera and they all duck and cover…or run!!  Quilters are very quick on their feet!

We all agreed that everyone HAS to experience Rosie’s once in their lifetime…just to experience that OVERWHELMING feeling!  There must be a dozen rooms FULL of fabric!  And at a good price too!

The next and final stop in our Shop Hop was Fat Quarter Shop!  But we need to savour Rosie’s just a bit longer..Shop Hop to be continued..

Today is the Palm Spring’s Quilt Show…if you are in the area it is a must see!!  It’s small but mighty!  Hope to see ya there!

I tell you, this Snowbirding gig is one BIG Quilting Retreat!!

Have a super Saturday and Happy Stitching!~P

  2. I have only been to Rosie's a couple of times, but I agree with you, come with lists on what you need. You will find it. All the pictures make me want to visit again. Thanks so much. Have a great day. I am sure you will get lots of pictures of the quilt show.

  3. I think I've met the ladies from Rosie's at Trends in Portland. Nice of them to sort the colors for everyone. Thanks for the show this Saturday morning. It's National Women's Day, I hear.

  7. I did get to Rosie's one time after a full day in Tijuana. We got there at 4.30 pm...it was the one day a week that they were open til 9pm! Boy, was there a big sigh of relief. I could not believe how big it was. And my Swedish girlfriend who had barely seen an American quilt shop almost hyper ventilated! We did some major damage there and we got it all back to Sweden too. I sure know how to pack!:) Glad to see that it still is there! Have to sweet talk hubby into going there next visit!
Thanks for sharing! I enjoy seeing all the fun things you do!
