As a Canadian Snowbirder, I really do not enjoy the long drive home! I am a nervous passenger…It’s those FREEWAYS…YIKES! Drivers weaving in and out…huge trucks barreling passed! I put my head down, focus on my project and stitch like crazy!! By the time we reached home, I had Band-Aids on my fingers…BUT I DID manage to finish off THREE…almost FOUR wool projects!!
I already showed you my finished ‘Summertime’ blocks by Primitive Gatherings…well, here is my second finished project “Snowy Days” by Heart to Hand!
The blocks are basically done…except for what I call the ‘special effects’…like vines, French knots and outlining. That was just too difficult to do in a bumping, jiggling truck!
You get the idea…and I think you will agree…DANG CUTE!
I don’t think that I have ever met a snowman that I didn’t love!
And this one is no exception!! Love it!!
Sew…now I need to finish the special effects stitching, sew these blocks together and then add some decorative stitches on the seams!
I just remembered that the other two project tubs are still in the back of the truck…waiting to be unpacked! Hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day. I will do that today and take some pictures!
It’s so nice to come home with some finished work! It just proves that my time down south wasn’t all fun and games! :o)))
Have a SUNNY Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P
I am the same way, I hate looking when we are on highways, lol. You got a lot done and that is such a fun piece. One thing I do, when we can is take back roads, rather take an extra hour to go around the highways;)

Hou cute snowmen!!
ReplyDeleteI love it! :D
Have a nice week end.
Gorgeous! I love snowmen.
ReplyDeleteThose are some nice even stitches! Beautiful piece! When you sew the blocks together will you do on a machine with a seam allowance? Or will you overlap the edges and blanket stitch? Always curious as to how folks stitch together wool blocks...
ReplyDeleteWow! Another big project appliqued! I love this one so much!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Gorgeous pattern and you did an awesome job, even in a rolling quilt room!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great start for your Christmas projects now P.
ReplyDeleteOh how adorable those Snowmen! Hugs, Mary
ReplyDeleteHi Paulette,
ReplyDeleteAs the usual driver on trips I'm always amazed when I hear people talk about doing handwork while being a passenger.
Once on a bus trip I tried watching a video on crazy quilting and ended up getting car sick. I'm afraid to even think of trying to do some stitching.
Your two pieces look great congratulations on two completed projects.
I just noticed you added me to your blog list, thanks!
Beautiful pieces Paulette...
ReplyDeleteThat is very cute!
ReplyDeleteI am a nervous rider even out in the middle of nowhere and no other vehicles around. You did good stitching being in a moving vehicle and clutching the armrest every so often. California traffic is not my cup of tea.
ReplyDeleteTotally adorable!!! I have tried stitching in the car and it is tough to keep the stitches in line.
ReplyDeleteLove your snowmen blocks. They are on my list of things to do.
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see a wool snowman, I think of you! Love seeing these projects. I have to agree with you about the traffic - I can only imagine what it must be like driving in a camper! When we lived outside of Boston, I would fall asleep whether I was tired or not when we got to Route 128 just outside the city - it was horrendous! But, you made it!! Yippeeee!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, those look so sweet! Glad you can stitch while the vehicle is moving. I can for awhile then I have to take a break or get a headache. Great progress.:)
ReplyDeleteOh this looks awesome Paulette
ReplyDeleteOh Paulette, it's sweet! Snowman love addictee also ;)
