Winter Solstice

The real Winter Solstice occurs on Dec. 22 of this year...which gives Julie plenty of time to get her "Winter Solstice Quilt" quilted and bound!  Do you remember our Winter Solstice Quilt A-Long....we had about five or six participants all busy making Country Threads 'Winter Solstice' all at once!
A couple of quilters fell to the wayside...not to name names but life tends to happen...and their Winter Solstice got left in a tote for awhile!  It happens...man, do I KNOW!!  The important thing is, that the tote eventually gets dusted off and the project gets finished!  Yeah Julie...your's is finished and looking magnificent!
Here Julie is, buying her backing fabric...the beige snowy fabric...a PERFECT choice!
Julie leads a VERY busy life...traveling to Europe and birthing babies!!  She has a new grandson to add to her flock and she is VERY active in their lives!

Julie's fabric choices for her Winter Solstice are warm and wintery..and the wool gives it texture and richness!  I love how Julie changed up the borders too!
Julie's grandsons are going to love this quilt when they come to visit their grandma!  Can't you see them counting sheep...stars...houses...trees!  It's a winner!

Thanks Julie for sharing your lovely quilt with us!  Winter Solstice is just around the corner!

Hey, did you notice that Stacy from Buttermilk Basin has started her Halloween Party...and is giving away the sweetest Candy Corn Pillows!  They are adorable!  Go HERE to get in on the fun!  And remember to VOTE!!

Have a Super Saturday and Happy Stitching!~P

  4. I remember when your group was working on the Winter Solstice quilt. A good finish for Julie. I think mine is still a top.
Will you be spending the Winter Solstice in the USA?
