What’s On Your Wall Wednesday…

Well for one thing I need to change that title to “What’s on my FLOOR Wednesday”…

IMG_4848

It’s a whole lot of paper…a blizzard of PAPER!  Since Sunday I have been ripping…and ripping and ripping!  I am down to the last paper pieced house!!  YIPPEE!  All this ripping is the downfall to paper piecing because whatever goes in, must come out!  Notice that I have been using tweezers to do this task!  I go around the stitches VERY carefully…like a surgeon taking out your gallstone…ok maybe even more carefully than that!

I have a fear that as I shake the last bits of paper off this quilt, all the houses will go flying too!

My fingers are crossed…

Have a wild (but not too wild) Wednesday and Happy Stitching!~P

  1. Can't wait to see how you put them together! How are the big school houses?

  2. Congratulations on getting all that paper off, it is very time consuming and labour intensive!

I'm sure all will be intact despite your worries. I see Anna is thinking of making a house quilt in your schoolhouse red and white also!

  3. I wish there was such a thing as printable cheap "paper" that dissolves when you washed the finish quilt...so you didn't have to unpick all the paper. Love foundation piecing, just hate this bit. Looking forward to seeing your houses.

  4. At first I thought it was pop corn all over the floor! Well, just remember how accurate your piecing is despite all the paper you've removed.

  5. I just spray mine with water. The paper comes off a lot easier when it's wet. Then I roll it up in a towel and press it while it's still damp. Can't wait to see your houses! I started a house quilt that's a block of the month. It's called Hillside Houses by Pretty Little Quilts. I'm a sucker for houses! XO

  7. I do love the precision of paper piecing but picking out the paper pieces........not so much!

  8. That would drive me to distraction, lol - not the mess, I can live with that, but picking out the paper with tweezers!! Yikes! But it will be worth it...
