One Wee House At a Time…

Five wee houses done…with more in the assembly stage!  I have ‘almost’ got a street done!IMG_3136-001

These are fun and addictive…and would be so much EASIER to do if I was at home.  At home, I would set up an area in my sewing room and keep it up…much the same way as one would do a puzzle.  Then I would work on it whenever I got a spare moment and to heck with the mess!  In an RV, I can’t do that.

My goal is to make TEN houses every month…there I have said it..out loud!  Totally do-able!  But sometimes doing and saying are two different things!!  :o))

My friend, Synthia, sent me this picture!  Yowzers!  She said that this quilt was from the Netherlands…What an amazing quilt!  Can you see the wee trees interspersed among the houses?  I love it!!

Thanks, Synthia!!  If anyone knows the name of the quilter who made this quilt, please let me know so that I can give her the credit that she so richly deserves!  I wonder how long it took her to make this quilt?  Years? Decades?

Yowzers…Hand me that hammer, will yah?  I have a ‘few’ more houses to build!

Have a super Saturday and Happy stitching!~P

PS…this quilt is named House Parade and made by a lady named Coby van Dijk.  You can read more about this quilt HERE!  (You bloggers are the BEST…thank you!)

  1. There is a new television show called "Tiny House Nation". Have you seen it? The quilt you show should be named that.

  5. Yep, quilting in the RV is a little more difficult! I can quilt in our cargo trailer but unlike you, I just haven't gotten in the mood yet. I don't have any houses to complete but I do have some cows to finish! :))

  7. I remember being tempted when this idea was first blogged bout with the Dutch quilts and the idea of a large house surrounded by many smaller one. A lot of the ladies hand pieced the house also hence the stamp that was designed to aid in not having to trace the templates.

Amazing to go and look at the pictures agains. Thanks for the link Paulette.

  14. Oh, your little houses continue to tempt me - I'm still undecided about starting this one though. Are you hand piecing or paper piecing yours?

  16. You must have a very tiny little hammer for building those houses. They're delightful.

  23. The wee houses are quite cute on the internet, but didn't really catch me till I saw them in person. My oh My!! they are amazing and adorable! I don't have a sewing room at home either, and have to get out the machine and set it up on the dining table and put it away...almost...every night. A quilt room/sewing room is a fantasy, but one that won't fit in the current house, sad to say. So back to the dining table! Kinda like your sewing space in the fifth wheel. so loved seeing the little houses, Paulette!
