YUM… Left Overs!

Yesterday we found ourselves in Yucca Valley and of course WE had to stop at my favourite little Thrift Shop…this means my husband walks the dogs while I do a spin through!Rolling on the floor laughing

The first thing I spotted was a gorgeous, vintage scrappy YoYo tablecloth on one of the antique dressers…stunning…but the price tag read $50!  YIKES! Too much for this bargain hunter!!

BUT wait…what was that sitting in a basket on the floor beside the dresser?  Why… it’s two big bags of the same vintage yoyo’s…LEFT OVERS!! Yeah!  Left overs works for me!

Two LARGE Ziploc bags crammed full of these handmade vintage gems…see the little pile to the right?  Well there are 50 yoyo’s in that little wee pile!  Which means…that there are hundreds of yoyo’s!  AND ALL for under $10!!

And made from vintage fabrics….

Yup, I have enough to make a little/big table topper of my own!!

Don’t you just love thrifting…and other people’s left overs!!  SCORE!!

Have a super Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P

Love the yo-yos. Isn't it fun to sift through the bags and see all of the different fabrics?

What a wonderful find. It pays to be observant and look down. You never know what you'll find. Have fun with your new found yo-yo's.

I always find ugly fabrics, lol.
I do get lucky on occasion and find some nice fabrics, always fun to look.

You are an excellent thrifter. I need to follow you around and see how you do it!!!! However, I must admit, I did find a nice bag of vintage fabric yo-yo's on the "free" table at Guild a few months ago. I hadn't thought of what to do with them, but now that you've mentioned a tablecloth, I may just do that!!

I'm not much of a thrifter, but that certainly was a lucky score. Perhaps I'll have to start looking more closely at the thrift stores in my area.

not that I know that much about quilting but I am assuming that you hit the 'jackpot'!!

Lucky you! What a great find.

What a cool score. You get to be part of the quilting process when you use the YoYo's in a project of your own.

Ooo so much fun to sort through all those yo yo's and plan a table topper for a 5th of the price!

You have a good eye for a bargain. We stop once in a while at one thrift store that charges a lot for the good stuff. Too much for our budget. And it sits in their cases for long, long periods of time. It is donated so why not sell if for less and move the merchandise is my thought.

I'm sadly jealous of your yo-yo find! In move years ago, I lost a tim box of Mother's yo-yos. They'd be vintage today, so be sure to use yours lovingly.
