Free Pattern...

Santa's Workshop is HUMMING...right now batting fluff is flying...there are EIGHT runners (and we are not talking running reindeer!), two baby quilts and a major quilt in the workshop ready for quilting and the mid-arm is not cooperating!

In fact, I have taken the Pfaff off the quilting frame...and would have taken a hammer to it, if Jo from Jo's Country Junction hadn't said that this is her favourite piecing machine!  She is so right...LOVE this machine OFF the frame...ON the frame I HATE it!  If you are thinking of buying a Grand Pfaff 1200 as a mid-arm for your quilting frame, then RUN!  It's not worth the grief!  If you are thinking of it for your piecing machine, then you are going to LOVE IT!

Looks like 2016 will be bringing me a new mid-arm!  Have you got any recommendations?  Come on we want to hear about it! I can't afford a long arm and really can't justify the cost of one...I am happy with a mid-arm, WHEN IT WORKS!

So I have NOTHING to show you...secrets..mum's the word, around here!  BUT I did stumble onto this FREE PATTERN yesterday.

I was on Instagram yesterday and a quilter was putting the finishing touches onto her quilt...it was THIS quilt!  Let me tell you it was Drop Dead Gorgeous!  She had made it up in blues and greys and it looked so Wintery perfect!  Immediately I turned to Mr. Google for help...typed in "Bundle Up Quilt Pattern" and PRESTO...instantly found this pattern and it's FREE! (Man, I love the internet!)  So of course I have to share!  Go HERE for your FREE 'Bundle Up' pattern!

That's it...that's all I got this morning!  I am busy quilting quilts...on the domestic...soooooooooo sloooooooowwww!  BUT I will crank up the Christmas music and make my way through it...a quilter does what a quilter does...falalalalah la la la lahhhhhh....

Have a SUNNY Sunday and Happy Stitching!~P

Going to the Dogs...?

This was my only purchase from Heritage Quilting's Silent Auction held a couple of weeks ago....a dog/cat book called "It's Raining Cats and Dogs"!  It's an oldie but a goody!  Since making my 'Dog Daze' baby quilt, I have been on the look out for other animal quilt patterns and this book sure has some fun little critter quilts to make!

Check it out...

 Adorable, or what!

And just look at these kitty faces....the makings of the SWEETEST baby quilt EVER!
Yup...this book is going to get a good workout!  And for only $2 all I can say is...
"SCORE!!!"

To all of my American friends, wishing you the Best Thanksgiving EVER!

Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Stitching!

Wicked Wednesday!

OMGosh...the sunrise this morning was spectacular! Dark orange rimmed mountains, followed by baby blue, fading up to the dark navy sky!  It was quite a show!  And it continued to get brighter!  Magnificent!  Check it out...I opened the window...but the screen was in the way!  Seems the camera liked the screen way better than the view!

Yup...there is a reason why I am a quilter and not a photographer...not that my quilting is much better! haha

Thanks goodness for my quilty friends...Glynis came to the rescue, yet again...with this lovely block that she was working on Monday at Heritage!  Yes, the way Glynis works it is probably a quilt by now!

This is a FREE pattern offered by the Mystery Quilt Blog Hop called  'Gingerguy' Week #8.  You can download it HERE!  It's a 'Jeni's Blog from the Willow' pattern and is dang, stinking cute!  The designers outdid themselves this year...and WE THANK YOU!!

As for me, I have been busy in Santa's Workshop and can't show you what I have been working on!  TOP SECRET, you know!  Looks like I will be dusting window screens before I head in there this morning!  Work...work...work!  Yup, no rest for the wicked!

Have you have a wicked Wednesday too....and Happy Stitching!~P

Heritage Happenings...The Old and the Beautiful...

We had such a fun day at Heritage yesterday!  Those members who own antique/vintage quilts were asked to bring them in for Show and Tell!  And what a show and tell it was!  This is a picture heavy post...(there won't be a monologue as  I am only suppose to be on the computer for 20 minute stretches, due to eye fatigue....it's a *beep* getting old!!) So enjoy...

Absolutely GORGEOUS quilts that often look exquisite far away but not so much close up!  Hey, it happens to the best of us!!  They each had their own personalities and unique features and we enjoyed seeing them all!  There was one underlying theme that ran throughout the Show and Tell and that was the NEED for QUILT LABELS ON THE BACK OF QUILTS!!  Very few of these quilts had labels, so the stories behind the quilts were non-existent or sketchy!  What a shame...We need to keep that in mind when we make our own quilt...PUT A LABEL ON IT!  A hundred years from now, your quilt could be the feature quilt at your great-great grand daughter/son's guild or maybe in some museum...you just don't know...??

So I hope you enjoyed these quilts as much as I did!  I just love old quilts...and I realize that not everyone does.  I'm not naming names BUT I have a friend who thinks old tattered quilts should be bagged and tossed...she also thinks rusty bells need to be polished!  WHAT'S WITH THAT?!!!:o)) haha

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Stitching....and get those labels on...you just never know...~P
