Take a HIKE!

Yesterday my husband suggested a hike out in a local desert park…normally I would have said yes…but…dogs aren’t allowed in this park.  And I felt like sewing..WITH a machine!!  So I said I would dog sit…hee hee! So I set up the machine and I was in heaven.  We have been away for almost a month and a half now and I have got to admit…I MISS MY SEWING ROOM!  I miss just popping in and sewing, dropping things and then returning later to sew some more.

In a trailer it is a big deal to set things up…and with another person mixed in with the mess, it’s not that much fun. So I was in heaven…

So I finished the blocks…

And got ten rows done…

I know some of you are tired of looking at Rouenneries by French General…well not me!  I love this fabric!  Would you believe it is just arriving in Canada!  My motto…better late than never!!

Oh and the dogs…got a lovely walk and a long visit with their friends at the dog park!

What did I miss on the hike? Some pretty spectacular scenery!

Oh well…a quilters got to do, what a quilters got to do…:o)

Have a marvellous Monday and Happy Hiking Quilting!

  3. I'll take sewing over hiking, too. I do my daily walks but don't like hiking - ick! LOL

That's going to be a beautiful quilt, Paulette.

  5. Good call! I do like a nice hike, though, especially when it's NOT pouring rain. It would be hard to leave doggie at home and hike without him. I bet your pups were happy you stayed home with them and 10 rows done, well, that's icing, isn't it?

  6. Great progress on your quilt. It's amazing what we can do when we have the 'urge' to stitch instead of go on a hike...

  7. I can understand wanting some me time to quilt. When we go on trips, I only take small projects, don't think I would like lugging my machine around.

  9. The quilt is coming along beautifully and who could ever get sick of Rouenneries. And you can place the hike photo near the machine and do both at once! Perfect.

  11. I love it! French General is one of my favorites! I have a little shop and am eagerly looking forward to their next line which is coming out in March! I didn't keep any of Rouenneries for myself! I won't make that mistake with their next line-lol! I'm making a little quilt from Blush right now and I agree that it's fun to get back to the sewing room! Love the quilt! Cheery wave from Bev!

  14. I think it was very noble of you to forgo the walking to dog-sit. You deserve a medal for that.

Love the swirly toppers. So innovative and yeah, two of those babies in one day would give me that look in the eyes for sure!

  19. As I was scrolling through your posts, catching up, I stopped here and said "HEY" that's my next quilt! As in, for real! I recently saw the quilt at an LQS done in different fabrics and liked it. I thought it would be something fairly easy. (I need to balance my challenging projects with easier ones.) I'm doing it in Moda's Patisserie by Fig Tree Quilts. Nice to see it has the positive "stamp" of Paulette's approval. Yours is looking beautiful!
