Pismo Beach…

We made it!!  We are all set up at Pismo Beach Village RV Park…right on the beach!  Gorgeous!!

Our drive up the coast was wall to wall traffic…FREEWAYS!  Yikes!  I was too nervous to stitch and then when the traffic thinned out the views became spectacular…

The wildflowers this year are glorious!  Take a peak…

And the beach was amazing…

I think Rylie said it best…man, she was excited!

This was her the WHOLE time we were at the beach!!

Yup…Rylie is definitely a BEACH DOG!  YAHOOO!

Maybe I will have something quilty tomorrow….??  Notice, I said ‘maybe’…

Sewing Junk…the LOOT…

I know…I know…you have all been waiting with bated breath to see what I bought from Sunday’s Junk Shop Shopping spree…

Yes, I managed to pick up a few bargoons…

Like these old spools of wool thread…

A mini Baby Brother…and it works too!  Just needs a good buffing!

Two old sewing lunch boxes…great for storing buttons, threads…what have you…

I loved this old Borden’s milk jug…

And this old Simplicity tin…

And an old tin wall plaque…complete with a dribble of paint in the left corner…

I’m happy with my loot and all of it will look great in my sweat shop back home!

Speaking of HOME… we said a final farewell to our friends in the park yesterday…and now it’s time to head ‘er home!  What a great time we’ve had this season…lots of good friends…some new…lots old!  From yoga, to Clubhouse Quilting, to our desert hikes, to all our meals out…some new restaurants..lots old, to our BBQs and pot-lucks, to our girl time walks where we talk faster than we could possible walk…to our shopping and trips to JoAnn’s and of course the Quilt Shops, and Road to California, and Hemet Quilt Show…what a great time!! The list goes on…. So many good times and I will miss them ALL!  Man, I love it down here!  But home is good too…and I can’t wait to get back!

So this morning we will hook up our house on wheels and off we go to Pismo Beach, where we will stay for two or three days and reconnect with the Ocean…then it will be on to Monterey…and up then up the Coast to HOME!

Life doesn’t get any better than this!!

Sewing Junk…

Yesterday in between doing laundry, cleaning and packing, Kim and I slipped away…our husbands didn’t even know that we had gone!  We had heard about a place on Pierson St and Cactus St. in Desert Hot Springs that sold old sewing machines and sewing memorabilia…it was our LAST chance to go and have a look for ourselves!!  So off we went!

I thought you might like to see it for yourselves…because in this case the pictures are worth a million words!!

We had heard that they sell sewing machine…well this really didn’t cover it!  What an understatement if ever there was one! There were sewing machines in every nook and cranny!  Bonnie Hunter would be hyperventilating!

The quilts started at $50…

Yes, that’s a gun on the table…don’t know if it’s real…yikes!

Now if I was Bonnie Hunter, I would be on my hands and knees dragging that green case out for a look see….  Nope, it didn’t happen!

This is an old industrial sewing machine!!  Wow!!  Hey, I didn’t even SEE that toilet when I was there!!  Geeze…I wonder what was inside the bowl?  Eeewh!!!

What ever this was…I loved it!!  How unique!

A carpet beater…can’t have too many of these around the house!! haha

An old juicer??…

I loved this sled…and they had about four of them…remember we ARE out in the desert!! 

So…do you get the idea…tons of STUFF!

Everywhere you looked there was sewing junk…or some other kind of junk..all good and all expensive!  There were no deals to be had…but it was sure fun to look!  And it didn’t prevent us both from bringing home a wee small treasure or two!

I will clean up my loot today and show you tomorrow you what I bought…can you stand it?  :0)
