Where WAS my brain??

…I guess my brain was out enjoying the sunshine…because I TOTALLY forgot to check Quiltmania for the AUGUST FREE BLOCK OF THE MONTH!  Yikes!! 

AND is it ever SWEET!  Watermelon SWEET!

Quiltmania must have realize that I have been asleep at the wheel because they have ALREADY posted September BOM!!  No forgetting this month!!

So when you whip over…make sure you download both months!!

This is going to be one VERY sweet quilt!!

LUCKY ME!!  I received this sweet little pillow in the mail yesterday from Winding Vine Wandering Blog!!  Thanks YOU SEW MUCH, Patti!!  I love it…and it’s done up in my colours!!  I appreciate every little ity-bity little stitch!  Gorgeous work!

Recyling…the leftovers!

Yes, we are still talking about Stitching Lines…and BOW TIES!

I’ve joined  Bonnie Hunter (Quiltville’s~Quips and Snips) and fellow Bow Tie Lovers in a 2011 Challenge~ to make a Bow Tie Quilt by July 2012…totally do-able, don’t you think! 

SEW I need to make a ton of these guys…then I remembered…

..these guys…The LEFTOVERS from my last Stitching Lines project…AND I remembered that ‘Joyful Quilter’ left a comment about the leftovers when I first blogged about ‘Stitching Lines’ …She said she used them when she made her snowball blocks and her flying geese blocks.  Hmmm…what about bow ties??

So I put them to the test….You start like this…lining up the little square  and the big square with right sides together…

Clip the strip to fit…corner to corner…and stitch…wow so easy, so quick, so accurate…and to think people throw this part away!!

Cut the fabric off along the paper’s edge… 

It takes 2 seconds to fold and rip…melts off!

Done!

Press open and repeat…sew together and Presto!!  Instant bow tie!!  I love it when they practically makes themselves!!

So now I have TWO bow ties…a long way from making a quilt…but that’s OK because I have lots of leftover from Stitching Lines…

…and I have lots of squares ready and waiting…

Stitching Lines GIVE AWAY!!

LOOKIE what Mary from Marin &Colusa sent me after reading my post on using Stitching Lines while making Quilt Sue’s Autumn Topper!!  Is she not the most generous, thoughtful person…and SMART TOO!  She invented Stitching Lines!

I absolutely LOVE Stitching Lines…so now I have TWO more packages of Stitching Lines PLUS this package of adorable quilty note cards!! So cute!!! THANK YOU, MARY!!

BUT…this just DOESN’T seem right…here I sit with all these Stitching Lines…and poor you…with NONE! YOU really need to try them!

So LET’S HAVE A GIVE AWAY!!  I noticed yesterday during our PICK FOUR FUN that my Followers number hit 750 so that’s reason to start up the band…and CELEBRATE!!
