I’m saying it with hearts…quilted hearts that is!! Thanks to Kathy, my quilting buddy from home, you are getting just that!!
Kathy made this sweet little wall hanging this year. The symbols represent Love, Peace and Joy. This little quilt could serve you well for Chinese New Year AND Valentine’s Day!! It’s gorgeous made out of Asian fabrics..
Kathy’s adorable mug mat was made with appliques that she cut out using her Christmas present, a Slice fabrique which is a cordless fabric cutter.
A SLICE is like a mini GO! Cutter only a lot smaller. Here is a picture one…
The SLICE Fabrique is a revolutionary fabric-cutting tool that makes quilting easier and faster. In a matter of seconds you can cut out intricate pieces of fabric for applique. If you do a lot of applique then this is the machine for you! The SLICE Fabrique works with design cards specifically customized for fabric so you can cut alphabets, numbers, flowers, icons, basic shapes (like hearts), and more. Go ahead and check them out HERE!
You just apply a fusible web to your cotton fabric, wool or flannel and you are ready to start Slicing. You dial in your shape, then punch in the size of the shape…I believe the largest size is 4 inches..and PRESTO you have that shape tailored to the size you want! (The size is its only limitation as you can’t do anything bigger than 4 inches.) It’s pretty nifty!
I see JoAnn’s Fabric and Crafts is selling them on SALE for $104.95. Hmmmm…maybe my honey pie would like a SLICE for Valentine’s Day??? It’s a thought…don’t cha’think? Your sweetie would probably like one too!!
Thanks Kathy for sharing your gorgeous Valentine’s Day projects with us!!
Have a marvellous Monday and Happy Quilting! Oh…and I hope your Valentine’s Day is A SLICE!! ~P
I looked at the Slice info and don't see anything for cutting little circles. The GO doesn't have any for small circles either. If you want a Slice, your honey surely will get you one.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute idea, small and good for small appliques. I do more folk art, so I like hand cutting to get the primitive look.

I have seen the slice, looks like it would be great for alphabets since Accuquilt does not do alphabets (well...just a few).
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteI think your Honey would be very special if he bought you a little "Slice of Heaven".
Happy Valentine's Day from your faithful quilting "driver, quilt shop parking lot waitee and visa card ignoring" husband!
ReplyDeleteFor Valentine's Day - forget the flowers and chocolates! I'll take you to the little 'wool shop' in Temecula this week and you can spend the money on fabric instead
Love.... rick
p.s. The only 'Slice' I want for Valentine's is from a 'pizza' or a nice 'apple pie'!!...rick
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day! Hmmm-flowers and chocolates or a shopping spree at a wool shop in Temecula with a blind eye to a visa limit. Lookout Temecula! Enjoy your pizza and apple pie for supper!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat thing!
