My Patchwork Turtle!

Another day spent NOT sewing…jeeze louise…what’s this world coming to!!  Life is getting in the way…doesn’t it know that I’m retired and I SHOULD be able to do whatever I want to do!! ;o) Apparently not…!

I just finished watering the garden...every time I water this little guy I marvel at how much I enjoy him!  Isn’t he sweet…?P1080384Do you remember him?  I bought him at a Garage Sale last year.

I think he’s a plant stand…?  He was kind of boring last year…or should I say a little naked looking…he DOES look a little embarrassed, doesn’t he?  But with the help of some chicken wire, soil, moss and some succulent plants…he’s looking more like a turtle!

I was a little worried about him~ left out on the sundeck to weather the winter all alone but he did just fine…

In fact, Rylie thinks he did great while we were away!  Look at his back..

P1080392   Like a patchwork quilt…P1080388  He is even flowering!!P1080390 P1080391 The moss is nice and shaggy and the succulents love him-look at all the little babies!    Yes, I enjoy watering this little guy!

Sunny…with chance of (Bridal) Showers…

No stitching happening around here…but that doesn’t mean that YOU shouldn’t be stitching!  Sue’s Treehouse is giving away FREE stitchery patterns that are SEW darn cute!!  They would look perfect stitched on a table topper for the kitchen table.  There are three of these adorable blocks…two teacups with flowers and the cream and sugar.  Hurry over and have a look!image

I am busy getting ready for a Bridal Shower that I am having for a good friend and neighbour’s daughter next weekend.  Ashley and my youngest daughter, Hayley were best buddies right from birth…so now Hayley is her Maid of Honour.  Seems like only yesterday they were playing dress-up…but we are NOT going there…

The ‘Theme’ of the shower is Tropical as the bride and groom are honeymooning in Costa Rica.  I found some really cute leis, grass skirts, a woven grass hat and coconut shell bikini top for the bride to wear…after all a Shower is all about humiliating the bride..heehee…hey, I had to wear a SCHOOLHOUSE on my head!

I do need a quick, simple but FUN game…anyone out there in Blogland have a game up their sleeve that they would LOVE to share???  Come on.. help me out here…it’s either that or we are going to sit there and watch the grass grow…

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Quilting!!
