On With The Show….

The good thing about showing the Parksville Quilt Show pictures a week or two late is that all the quilts have become NEW to me again… (is that a senior’s thing?)..Anyways.. regardless of my age…what I am TRYING to say is that I am enjoying the show the second time around!

Let’s start off the show with a quilt that I know Poppyprint should LOVE!!

Magnificent, isn’t she?

P1180529

Just look at the thread work!!  Incredible!

P1180588

Yup…love poppies and these are no exception!  They were show stoppers, for sure!

P1180587

There were several Japanese Sashiko quilts in the show..perhaps there had been a workshop?  Regardless, lovely workmanship and enjoyed looking at all of them!

P1180557

The Parksville quilters are masters at  appliqué!!  Beautiful work!!

P1180558 P1180559

Isn’t this table topper interesting!!  Very nice!

P1180560  I think this might be reverse appliqué.

P1180562

A chisel quilt that looks GO! friendly!   Love the little pinwheels on the alternating rows!  They add a little zing, as do the borders!

P1180563

OK…I am just going to let you wander…and I will see you at the end of the show…ENJOY!

P1180564  P1180566 P1180567 P1180568 P1180569 P1180578 P1180580P1180582(This one is on my bucket list…if/when I get a grandchild, I am making THIS one!!)  P1180583P1180584 P1180585 P1180586 P1180589

STUNNING!

P1180592 P1180593 P1180594 Hey…it’s the Jo Morton quilt that I was talking about the other day…who knew that it was in the show! haha P1180596

And a good way to finish off the ‘Quilts by the Sea Quilt Show’…

P1180622

All hand embroidered too!  The quilter who stitched these blocks estimated that each block took about 30 hours to complete!!  OUCH!

P1180623

Truly a work of art!

Tomorrow I will show you my favourite in show!  I know..I know…you are sitting on the edge of your seat waiting…breathlessly…

Have a SUNNY Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P

Quilter’s Block…(as in Writer’s Block..)

What to write about today?  Hmmmm…??  If you are a blogger, do you ever have days like today?…where you sit in front of the computer with nothing to say…?  Well that’s me today!

So what do I do?  I turn to my camera of course!  There are ALWAYS pictures there of good stuff that I haven’t download yet…(847 pictures to be exact!!)

EUREKA!  There’s gold in that-there camera!

What I haven’t shown you are pictures of MY favourite quilts from the Parksville Quilt Show!  Oh I showed you SOME of the pictures…of the raffle quilts… but not any of the actual quilts in the show!  So here we go!  Sit back and enjoy (whew…now that was easy!)

Love this little guy!!

Finally…Finished Friday!

After over a week of work, my sewing room is finally up and running!!  Yaaaaahhh!

Let me take you on a tour…now keep in mind that this is a small (10’X12’) bedroom turned into a sewing room……it’s certainly no high tech studio!

image There are several things that I love about this ‘new’ Sewing Room…one being all the natural light!  The window is huge..goes right across one wall of the room.  This is to the left…

Copy of P1180746

To the right of the room…my cutting table.  I am planning of hanging my thread rack above this table but I want to spray paint it first and it’s been RAINING!  So that will go up when the weather cooperates!

This table use to belong to my daughter…it’s taller than normal so it is perfect for a cutting table!  I have to keep my eye open for a stool…

Copy of P1180751

This table also has a drawer..perfect for all my rulers and cutters!!  LOVE IT!!

Copy of P1180757

Here’s the entrance…yes, I know, I love hoops!

Copy of P1180752

This dresser was also left behind by my daughter.  She moved to Ottawa and couldn’t take furniture with her!  Perfect for me…and

Copy of P1180753

…my on-going projects…

Copy of P1180764

This dresser is also home for my civil war fabrics.  I’m only showing you ONE drawer or you may think I have a problem…Besides what Hubby doesn’t know, won’t hurt him!!

Copy of P1180767

Here is the home for my GO! Fabric Cutter and dies…it’s not ideal but they do take up a lot of space and will be out of the way here…but still handy!

Copy of P1180768

I have the smaller dies tucked under the ironing table…

 Copy of P1180756

As I said there is tons of natural light and a nice view of my side yard… plus I can watch TV if I want to. Copy of P1180759I FINALLY have a design wall..of sorts!!

Copy of P1180769

I just sewed Warm and Natural Batting onto a dowel..one dowel on top and one on the bottom!  I still need to put end pieces onto the dowels’ ends to prevent the poles from falling!  BUT I am LOVING this!!  These are heavy, wool  blocks and they have no problems ‘sticking’!  And I really like how I can easily wheel the ironing board out of the way so that I can play on the design wall!!  It’s all good!

Copy of P1180770This is a dresser that I ‘found’ at a GS…and the price was right ($30) and  a coat or two of paint later…and she is ready for more of the stash!!  P1180761  I have changed my mind about this little bookshelf.  I’ve decided that I am going to put containers for sewing do-dads here.  I need a do-dad place…

P1180778

And this little table for my lap top isn’t ideal but will do until I find a small desk.  Keep in mind that this isn’t my main computer (she is upstairs waiting for me).P1180794

I do enjoy the way I can wheel around the room on my computer chair!  Having said THAT…I was going to buy an area rug…but now I’m not SEW sure??  I do like to wheel…and I love the way I can keep the floor clean…but a rug would be nice…For now, I think I need to live in the space for awhile and see what’s what!

Now I think I will do a wheelie over to the computer and see if YOU’VE left a comment…I’d love to hear your thoughts…

Have a FUN Friday and Happy Quilting!~P
