To the QUILT SHOW around the corner,

waste my time on trivial mattas’like this

I must stay deep 'cause talk isn’t cheap
I’ve got  Judy, and Doris, Gwen and Alice, Penny, Marilyn and of course meeeeee.

a little bit of Moda in my life
a little bit of Whimsical by my side
a little bit of Hofmanns all I need
a little bit of Blackbird is what I see
a little bit of Kaffe in the sun
a little bit of French General all night long
a little bit of Buggy Barn here I am
a little bit of you makes me your wo-man
mambo number five!!!

jump up and down and move it all around
shake your head to the sound put your hands an the ground
take one step left and one step right
one to the front and one to the side
clap your hands once and clap your hands twice
and if it looks like this then you doin' it right

You’re lookin’ fine!!

So grab your needle and thread and do it all again!!

Have a FUN Friday and Happy quilting!!

A Room Full of Quilters….

Yesterday I was one of the first quilters to get to the Clubhouse for quilting.  Imagine packing up your sewing room to take with you!!  Not easy or fun…especially when everything is UNDER the bed. I spent a good hour the day before pulling out all my bins, totes and bags sorting and going through everything.

So there I was at 9:45 am with my machine, bin of fabrics and my “just in case” bag of gadgets!  I didn’t want to look too eager so I waited and got there only 15 minutes early!

It was so good to see everyone again!  They are such talented, creative ladies!  Lots of Canadians escaping the cold winters but there were also many Americans from the ‘frostier’ states.

Penny worked on an elaborate border for her red and white quilt top- just beautiful! P1050299

Doris was working on two beautiful appliqué pictorial quilts.  Just lovely!

P1050307

This is number two…That didn’t come out the way I wanted to say it…hmmm.  It is a floral pictorial quilt and is going to be stunning when she is finished…stay tuned!

 P1050302

This lady was paper piecing her blocks and they were gorgeous….I’ll show you more next Wednesday.

P1050303

This lady  was paper piecing almost the same block except it was off centered and wonky.  I’m not sure which ones I liked better…both were lovely…I have to see more..

P1050304

Lots of chit chat…but the good kind…quilters’ chit chat!

P1050305

This lady was just starting a runner…  P1050308 P1050310

This is Gwen- she was finishing off this runner made in South western prints.  Very nice. Did I mention that Gwen is our driver to the Road to California tomorrow. ;o)

Regardless of where all these lovely ladies are from, one thing was crystal clear- we all love quilting!  We can talk patterns, books, techniques, shops, fabric, tools, silly mistakes, gizmos and gadgets, stitches, machines, magazines, Quilt shows… all day long….

My goal for the day was to finish my little wool quilt ~Fit to Frame.. but you know what it’s like when you get a room full of quilters together…OK! OK! I was goofing off in class…. Shheeeesh…Challenge?  What Challenge…Oh yeah, well don’t worry, I still have two weeks to bang off a project or two….(sound familiar?)

Oh well…maybe next Wednesday… :o)

Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Quilting!!  (sure hope I can sleep tonight!  I’ve got the camera battery charging!)  Before you go see what Elaine’s been up to…lucky girl!

I’m all a flutter…

..why you ask?  Because I have won a Give Away! I get SO excited about winning Give Aways mainly because I have NEVER won anything before blogging!  See blogging has changed my life in more ways than you can imagine- it has made me LUCKY!! ;o)

Stephanie, from Loft Creations has just Blogged her 500th posting so to celebrate this event she did a random draw and I won her latest Loft Creation!  It’s an adorable Butterfly Love Wall Pocket Hanger pattern….

As I look around the trailer I see this~ Right beside the door, I have a plastic bag that holds the  poop bags and the dogs’ leashes.  Pretty ugly right?  Wouldn’t a Butterfly Wall Pocket holder look cute there instead of this ugly bag?

  P1050295

This would DEFINITELY look a lot cuter and the mutts would be able to hold their heads up with pride every time I reached into the Butterfly Love Pocket….

imageI love it Stephanie- thank you so much!!!  If you love it too then hurry over to Loft Creations and order it for yourself.  It’s Stephanie’s newest creation! (Stephanie’s daughter designed this cover- didn’t she do a great job!!)

Look at the picture of our trailer door.  See the blue squirt bottle in the corner?  Our puppy, Rylie has turned into a yapper…there is NOTHING worse than a yappy mutt in a RV Park!  So whenever she goes into her barking frenzy outside, I zap her with a shot of water from the squirt bottle and GUESS WHAT?  It is working!!  When someone walks by she looks at me and then at the squirt bottle and doesn’t say a word!!  I’m not saying she is perfect but she is pretty darn close…BUT the squirt bottle is staying at the door…for now!

IT’S FREE!!!  START THE CAR!!! START THE CAR!!!

Yes, this pattern is FREE!
