The Cotton Ball…Part 2…

This is part two of my visit to the Cotton Ball Quilt Shop in Morro Bay…

So the BIG question seems to be…Did I buy anything?  Let’s save the good stuff for last…I believe we were in the upholstery fabric room…

Check out the cute pillows…I love them but the fabric was a fortune. The buttons are so cute and make the cushions pop…

This shop is really an old converted house…fabric in the bathtub…and to the left yummy soap!  This room smelled wonderful!P1050019 P1050020

This is the landing to the stairs…YES, there is another floor of fabric, patterns and deals!

So what did I buy…?

Well FYI ~I am a bargain hunter…always looking for a deal.  There were lots of deals to be found in this shop!P1050081

Fat quarters for 99 cents! P1050082

Half yard cuts for $2.50 each!

P1050083

I found these two upholstery fabrics in a sales bin 50% off….I can see a bag or pillows out of these two!

P1050087  P1050089

Sometimes you have to pay full price if you REALLY love it and I REALLY loved this book.  Lots of embroidery projects to do and they are all lovely….

P1050090 This is one of them…isn’t it sweet!

P1050092

This book was REALLY cheap and I LOVED the bird applique on this pillow so I bought the book just for that!  It was only $3.50 or something like that…cheap! P1050095  Sorry about the glare…I love this book and it was less than the price of a magazine! There are several pages of appliqué designs…P1050098

Check them out….

P1050099

I have been drooling over Rouenneries by French General for some time now but haven’t found any in Canada…  So I bought 4 charm packs and some fat quarters.  Love this fabric!!  I need to find some reds next…P1050104 P1050105

And a redwork panel that I am going to embroider over and this fat quarter…

Whew!  So what do you think?  Not bad for under an hour!!

Now how to get this big bag into the truck without my husband noticing….   Look it’s a bird..no it’s a plane….

Seriously, my husband is great about me buying fabric…it’s not like I do it everyday…

Now where is my list of fabric shops for tomorrow? :o)

Sight seeing pictures~I’ve got to throw in a few of these or you’ll think that I am addicted to quilt shops… This is the W. R. Hearst Park – you can see the Hearst Castle sitting on the hill overlooking this beach.

ON THE QUILTING FRONT~

Got another block done while watching TV last night. I’m much faster when I’m not getting bounced around! ;o)P1050070 P1050071 P1050072 P1050073 P1050076

This is it so far…I  have completed eight blocks but I’m not happy with one of them so I am going to re-do it.  I figure if you are going to put this much time and work into a project you want to have it done right.  I KNOW from past projects that if I left it as it is, that it would bother me every time I looked at it… so better to fix it now!  Aside from that one block, I really like it!

Today we are going to sight see the north of Pismo Beach…I have my list ready!

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!

It’s just gets better and better…

…our trip that is!!  The weather continues to be sunny and warm…I actually put on sandals and capris today before we headed down to the beach at the Pismo Coast Village RV Resort (a 3 hour drive from Marina). Gorgeous!!  Have a peak at what I have to suffer through….

This is a shot of our RV Resort!!  Just lovely!  I would DEFINITELY come here again…only for longer!

Poor me! ;o)

After our walk I checked my list of quilt shops in the area and discovered that Quilt Cousins (located in Pismo Beach) is within walking distance of our RV Resort!  EUREKA!  So off I went…five minutes later I spot the sign….  Looking good….

P1040974

A cute mat on the doorstep to welcome me to the shop….

P1040975

NOOOOOOOOOOO……….  Closed on Sunday AND MONDAY!!!

P1040976

So I finally get a quilt shop that I can WALK to and it’s closed….  How’s that for luck!

P1040973

It’s a good thing we are leaving on Wednesday. That way I can be here bright and early Tuesday morning!!

This is me with my nose up against the door window…can you read the Flamingo’s sign…It says LOTS OF NEW WOOL….  (Do you see that Claire? )  Oh…I’ll be back!P1040978

If they had been open (like they should have been) they wouldn’t have to clean off that greasy nose mark on their window!

On the Quilting Front~  Block Number 6 DONE!  I’m half way there!!
