When my hubby announce that our fuel was getting low and that we were going to stop in Springfield, Oregon, my whooop of excitement could mean only ONE THING…a Quilt Shop was nearby….!
And what a quilt shop it was!! It was ‘Something to Crow About’ for sure…yup, that’s the name of it! Cute…eh? Wait till you see the pictures…
It had just snowed in Springfield (just south of Eugene, OR) so the roads weren’t that great…in fact they declared it a SNOWDAY and school was out! Anyway…I had 15 minutes to peruse the shop…which is usually plenty of time…
Love the huge quilt patch on the side of the building…that’s because the shop is tucked into a little courtyard and might be overlooked…
VERY cute window display!
Me standing in the doorway…WOW!! I need more time…
Everywhere you looked there was eye candy of the best kind!
It’s not possible to ‘do’ this shop in an hour let alone 15 minutes!!
But what’s a girl to do…I did my best…and quickly, in a timely fashion..
LOVED this Jan Patek snowman quilt!!
And tons of wool projects…EVERYWHERE I looked!! Breath…just breath!
See what I mean…
Here’s Bonnie Sullivan’s new BOM…this is block one of Bertie’s Year…the shop is doing it as a class. Dang sweet…much cuter in real life, for sure!
It’s worthy of a close-up!!
This pumpkin quilt is from Primitive Quilts Magazine…adorable!!
This quilt is also being offered as a class at the shop…beautiful!
They had a flannel and homespun ROOM!!
And there was lots happening in the classroom…like this Primitive Gatherings quilt and is that a Simply Put Pattern on the bottom left?? Sweet!
Other classes for the Intermediate quilters…And LOOK at that quilt in the middle!! Primitive Gatherings Summer Freebie!! It’s SEW small…
…but beautiful!!
Also being taught as a class is Snowman Gatherings!~ So beautiful in real life!
See the framed stocking…the pattern is in the new Winter Quiltmania Magazine!!
The smallest churn dash quilt EVER…with teeny tiny flowers embroidered in the center!! Ahhhhdorable!
Loved the pillows!!
Told ya’… totally adorable!
And this brown and blue quilt is stunning!! Man…I didn’t even notice the red and white one beside it!!
And this tree quilt was STUNNING!! WHY didn’t I buy the pattern?!!
These mats were so precious and would make wonderful gifts!
I thought I’d end with this quilt…isn’t it the sweetest? I would love to have this hanging in my house…ummm… I mean trailer…!! :o)
Yup…this shop is ‘Something to Crow About’ all right!! The quilters who live around Eugene and Springfield are VERY lucky indeed!!
Day two down…sew it’s onwards…and upwards…as in Mountain Passes today…the Siskiyou Pass awaits! So far the I-5 Freeway has been bare and dry…fingers crossed that it remains that way!
Hope you enjoyed the shop!! It’s a good one to circle on your map and it was easy to find!!
Happy Shopping~P

It's amazing what your camera sees and the naked eye misses. We go to Eugene once a month to hook so stop at STCA on the way home. I was surprised you didn't take pictures of the bolts of wool. Glad you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a visual. Thanks for all the pictures but what did you buy?

ReplyDeletePaulette, I'm so glad you finally went to this shop. It is one of my favourites along the I-5 drive heading south.
ReplyDeleteOne time I went there they had part of the quilt A Primitve
Garden by Lisa Bongean on display in the classroom as a BOM. I was tempted to buy it but decided to wait. On my return home the I stopped in on a Monday only to find them closed. I have the pattern and am gathering fabrics to start stitching it.
I can't believe you only spent fifteen minutes there and got so many great pictures. Can't wait to see your purchases.
Safe trip over the mountain passes.
Great pictures, cannot wait to see what tempted you enough to stop and make a purchase!
ReplyDeleteTaht is one of my favorite shops in Oregon! Love their samples!!
