Gwen brought in some of her FINISHED projects to Clubhouse Quilting yesterday! No UFOs hiding in this quilter’s cupboards!
Gwen’s projects blew me away! Pour yourself a coffee and join me…I hope you too will be amazed at this quilter’s prolific and creative projects!
First up…Gwen’s Basket Quilt…you may remember this one from last Winter? Gwen cut the baskets out using the GO! cutter…and had this together lickity split…
…then she started her stitching…she hand embroidered the ‘Fill Your Baskets With Happiness’ using the stem stitch…SEW CUTE!!
Then proceeded to stitch daisies and ferns around the border…gorgeous!
Gwen then spend MANY hours hand quilting this quilt…giving it the loving touch that it deserved!! Love* Love* LOVE this quilt!!
Yup…this quilt just simply makes me HAPPY!
Gwen wanted to try her hand at making an Amish quilt…I think she succeeded quite nicely!! Look at this beauty…the flowers are gorgeous and of course it is all hand quilted!
I should have taken a close-up at Gwen’s wee small stitches! Amazing!!
And check out the BACKING…it’s an Amish panel that Gwen had in her stash!! PERFECT for this quilt!
This hand appliqued beauty can be found on Gwen’s dinning room table, when it’s not being shown off!! It is just lovely…outstanding workmanship!
See the meandering? That is ALL hand quilted!!
Beautiful!!
Check out this beauty!! All itty bitty patches beautifully pieced! Gwen knows what she is doing, that’s for sure!
This quilt was machine quilted by Gwen. She used a big stitch setting on her machine so that it gives the appearance of hand quilting…and it really worked!! We were convinced that it was hand quilted!!
Gwen has other talents too! Last year she received a Christmas Card that she loved, so she expanded the picture and turned it into a cross-stitch picture! Amazing!! A work of art that will become an heirloom for sure!
And finally Gwen’s newest love…wool work!! She is hooked on wool!!
How sweet is this mat!! This is a Cath’s Pennies pattern called ‘Snow Faces’! Beautifully done!!
Love those sweet pompoms!!
Yes indeed, Gwen has been one very busy and productive quilter!! No flies on her!! She continues to amaze and inspire us all!!
Thanks for sharing, Gwen!!
Have a thrilling Thursday and thanks for poking your head into my corner of the world!!~P

Wow what a busy and talented quilter!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW!!
ReplyDeleteWoww. Just piecing all those would take a lot of time, but then to have added embroidery, applique (and pom-poms, of course) and then to hand quilt them. Does Gwen ever eat, sleep or even breathe?
ReplyDeleteLOVE those snowmen, they are adorable!
