My Kind of Sight Seeing!!

Yesterday morning we ventured off sight seeing the southern area around Pismo Beach…my husband had his list of sights…Morro Bay Rock, Hearst Castle, more coastline…being some of them…I on the other hand had my list of quilt shops…first stop… Morro Bay and The Cotton Ball.

OMG…My heart went into overdrive when I saw the outside of this shop!!  This is the side of the building…on the balcony was some of their sale stuff…how cute is this?P1040998

Even Molly and Rylie thought that it was pretty darn cute!  Yes, mama’s going to like this one (they thought…)!

More stuff for sale in barrels and bins at the outside entranceway!  I’m liking this….. P1050001 P1050002  Cute quilters’ bags…adorable….P1050005

Fabric for $5 a yard on an old cast iron bed…and I’m not even inside yet… (breathing heavy here….)

And I’m in!  This is to the left of the store…WOW!  Talk about eye candy!!P1050008

Now to the right….more eye candy…major eye candy!

A glance outside and I yell…”I’m going to need at least an hour!!”  Thank goodness Rick has an iPod Touch to play with…he won’t even know that I’m gone…. ;o)

P1050007

Drawers of Fat Quarters for 99 cents!!  Half yards for $2.50!

P1050010

A room full of gorgeous upholstery fabric and a million handbag patterns!! P1050011

Pillows and battings and buttons for the pillow…too much to look at!

Whew…be still my heart…but not too still (I’m not ready for that!) There’s more to come…Part 2 tomorrow!!

Oh and the Morro Bay rock…gorgeous!

ON THE QUILTING FRONT~

Got another block done while watching TV last night. I’m much faster when I’m not getting bounced around! ;o)P1050070 P1050071 P1050072 P1050073 P1050076

This is it so far…I  have completed eight blocks but I’m not happy with one of them so I am going to re-do it.  I figure if you are going to put this much time and work into a project you want to have it done right.  I KNOW from past projects that if I left it as it is, that it would bother me every time I looked at it… so better to fix it now!  Aside from that one block, I really like it!

Today we are going to sight see the north of Pismo Beach…I have my list ready!

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!

  1. I can't work out which block you'd be unhappy with, they all look great (I feel the rumblings of another quilt for the To Do list....oh bother!) I know what you mean when something erks you so you mose well deal with it now.
That shop looks fab - it's my kind of sight seeing too :o)

  3. Love following you, on your trip.
It is nice you can take photos of the shops, some won't allow it. Love that rock, very neat place to visit.

  6. that's my kinda sight-seeing, too! (and the rock is gorgeous, too - beautiful blue sky as well, not the dreary grey we have here.) Can't wait to see the second installment. Your wool blocks are gorgeous. What a nice quilt they will make.
