We finally left the rain behind (somewhere north of San Francisco) and we were greeted with sunshine and 20 degree C temperatures! Off came the rain jacket, followed by the big, puffy, down vest and I could have easily changed the sweater for a t-shirt but I thought it might be too much of a shock for my body- after all it’s been awhile since it’s been exposed to rays of any kind!
Marina, California is just gorgeous!! Our RV Resort (Marina Dune RV Resort) is right on the dunes with a path leading to this….
Huge waves crashing on the beach but NO wind at all!!
Look at the happy smiles on their faces! Riley and Molly were so happy to be out of the rain and into the sunshine! They LOVE the beach!
This is only a 5 minute walk from our camper…. Now you know why we are staying an extra day or two…
ON THE QUILTING FRONT~ Yes, we are back to the blocks- five down and seven to go!!
Here’s today’s block… and I’m almost finished #6. It’s starting to look like a quilt…. The colours are richer looking in real life as they look a little washed out here…. But you get the idea.
Tomorrow I’m on the hunt for a good quilt shop….wish me luck!
Oh and did I tell you that we can hear the surf from our camper?
Sure hope it doesn’t keep me awake…..NOT! ;o)
Have a super Saturday and Happy Quilting!
Paulette that looks like just what the doctor ordered! How beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your advice on the journal... I'm actually quite interested in seeing what becomes of it!
Have a WONDERFUL Saturday... as I'm sure you will!

Oh, that looks so nice, but think I would like warmer temps, lol. We are getting light snow this weekend, so the benefit of snow, but clear roads.
ReplyDeleteThose blocks are so beautiful, I can't wait to see it when you put them all together.

I haven´t been here for a while. I read through all your posts and travelled with you in my mind. How great to be able to drive to a warmer place during the coldest months. I would love to see a picture of your 5th wheel. Your wool blocks are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I wish I was there right now! :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot that there are places in this world that have sun, waves and warmer temps! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love your wool applique. Working with wool is one of my favorite things.
Oh! That beach is beautiful! We bought a camper last summer and now that 2010 is here I'm already planning and can't wait for "the season" to start! So fun! Enjoy!

Your views look very tempting, but I decided to enjoy our -20C and 6 hours of daylight. - I love your wool appliqué blocks and can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteOnly a few days? I'd be tempted to spend a few weeks on that beach! I bet the dogs wouldn't argue! Your blocks look fabulous, and I hope your search for a quilt shop pays off.
ReplyDeletewhat a fantastic place!
ReplyDeleteBoy, your dogs do look like they are having fun, your little blocks are looking just great, and the views wow! Love that sunset.
Do remember it is not just the sun that burns. When you are at the beach you can get burned even when the sun is not out. It is the salt in the air from the sea that does it. So do take care of your skin.
Oh oh oh! That looks wonderful! And the sunset! And the big dog-grins! I'd bundle away the sewing for a day or two and walk the beach if I was there! Love listening to the surf at night too!
ReplyDeleteI'll be listening to the surf in my dreams - my favorite sound in the world, next to my children's laughter. I think I'd stay an extra month, lol!
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are so beautiful!
Love the ocean - enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks stunning there. Aren't you tempted to just stop the journey and stay right where you are?
ReplyDeleteBet you find a quilt shop, so I'm looking forward to hearing about it.
Oh yes - even the dogs are happy - you must be having an awesome time. The quilt looks just great. Ive learnt not to drink and sew over the last week - too much festive season for me..... sewed through my finger on xmas eve when I was whipping up a money bag at the last minute, then sewed and quilted a piece of a quilt upside down, so spent the past few days unpicking!!!! enjoy your holiday - this must be what I need.
ReplyDeletethe quilt with the little bird is fantastic, you're very talended!!
ReplyDeleteI like your wool blocks. What pattern are you using?
