Friday Night Sew In!!

image

I would have started this project anyways but there was something that made it more exciting…maybe because it was part of the Friday Night Sew In!!  Was it the anticipation of some definite stitching happening on Friday Night or being a part of a whole group of quilters working together…one things for sure it was definitely FUN!  (Even though I was REALLY tired after power shopping at the Road to California!!…BUT I’ll save that for tomorrow..)

This is what I accomplished before I conked out…ALMOST three blocks of Rosalie Quinlan’s Little Patchwork Village!

I hate to say it but I haven’t embroidered for over forty years!!  Notice there are no close ups of my work!!  ;o)  Is it like riding a bike…you hop on and take off…? Well maybe in some ways…but the practice of getting the stitches uniform is going to take time and well..lots and lots of practice!!  So maybe by the time this quilt is finished I will be able to take a close up…of the last block! We will have to wait and see….maybe uniform stitches will never happen but that’s OK too.  I love these little houses regardless of whether the stitches are perfect or NOT…

So when’s the next Sew-In girls??  My engine has started, the wheels are spinning, (look at the smoke coming from those tires!  Yeah, the ol’girl’s still got it in her!)…so please don’t tell me the race is over!

Have a Satisfying Saturday and Happy Quilting!!

  1. Well, I absolutely adore the little house - sweet village.

I was hoping for a full "Road" trip report. Sigh - guess I'll have to wait. :-)

  2. Those are such fun designs, and stitching is a nice break from applique. I have gotten a couple of stitches figured out, but need to practice more, so I can use them in my quilting.

  3. Your stitches look great - it will be a lovely quilt! Is it a block of the month or just one pattern?

And please don't make us wait too long for the Road report - I've been the last 2 years but couldn't make it this year so I have to enjoy it vicariously through you!

  4. Love those wee hoosies! They're going to look great all together...and love the new header too! Don't you think its an oxymoron or something to have a WOOL quilt hung for display on a PALM tree?
    Just sayin'...

  11. Hey, a new blog banner! With your new location in the background and the wool project in the foreground, we can sure tell what you're up to these days--NO GOOD, of course, just like usual! LOL! Did you leave anything at the Road vendors for others to buy? Your little stitcheries are awfully cute, and you're much quicker than I am. Until I started Gran's class, it had probably been nearly that long since I'd done any stitching too. I'll look forward to your "Road" post.

  17. Must see the whole quilt, complete with yard sale pants sashing! That plaid looks a zillion times better in your quilt than it ever coulda on a man's legs! Uhhh, and the embroidery is looking pretty outstanding from up here in Vancouver.
