Claire is back home with her family, her loot is unpacked and put away and she is probably like me…sitting back and enjoying the pictures that I have been posting…it is like revisiting these wonderful shops all over again!! If you have had enough ‘shopping’ then hop on over to the next blog…we won’t be offended…honest! But we are talking Country Loft here…and be warned…this is another picture heavy blog!
Yup…TODAY we are off to the Country Loft Quilt Shop…our all time FAVOURITE SHOP!
We were welcomed with open arms by the manager of the shop, Kathie! It was like meeting up with an old friend…and of course she let me take as many pictures as I wanted!! ;)
Also there to greet us was blog lurker, Kim (in blue)…It’s always fun (and surprising) to meet someone who actually reads your blog! Kim was a real character and you couldn’t help but like her immediately!
But it’s all about the SHOP…and the patterns and the fabric and the…displays…
Everywhere you turn there are displays and quilts! We were thrilled to see this Jan Patek (Pine Ridge) quilt hanging behind the counter. This is a BOM that the Loft is offering…and it is magnificent!! Love their colour scheme!
Tons of glorious wool projects taken from JoAnn’s new book, ‘Folk Art Branches’…the pictures in her book do not do these quilts justice!
Wonderful!
Loved this a sweet wee basket quilt…sew do-able!
And of course JoAnn’s magnificent Wool Crazy Quilt…I was so worried that Claire and Seattle Judy wouldn’t get to see it!! They were of course, awe struck!
There was another Wool Crazy version hanging in the classroom…made with a green borders…and just as beautiful!! You could sit and look at these quilts for an hour and see something new with each passing minute!
This is the pillow that JoAnn has in the Primitive Quilts Magazine (Winter 2013)…perfect for February!
This wee quilt was stunning…just wonderful!
Threads of all kinds and wonderful wools at the best prices I’ve seen in my travels so far!
Wouldn’t this basket quilt be perfect for Spring?
Quilts EVERYWHERE!!
How sweet is this one!!
And tons of Cheri Payne quilts displayed everywhere!
Claire was busy buying the pattern and fabric for this sweet quilt!!
Ohhhh the lucky ladies who live here and are able to come here and sew on a regular basis!!
Yup, blog lurker Kim was hard at work…
…this is what she was working on…Lovely Bear Paws…
..that will eventually form one of these~
…STUNNING QUILT!! Darn…I might have to go back to buy this pattern!! What was I thinking?! :0))))
I hope these pictures give you a small snippet of what’s inside this wonderful shop!! Incredible isn’t it? I wonder if The Country Loft has been in the Quilt Sampler Magazine?? If it hasn’t, then it SHOULD be!! Now that would be one issue that I would DEFINITELY buy!!
Have a thrilling Thursday and Happy Quilting!~P
I don't get to Quilt Shops here so your blog photos are really making me smile, Paulette. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWhere is this one located?
I think maybe your driver needs a coffee break by now. LOL
The Country Loft would be a dangerous shop for me. It feels like home, you had a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteWhy did Claire go home so early? I thought she would stay the winter through.
ReplyDeleteCountry Loft would probably be the first shop I would want to go to if I were to visit southern California. I drool every time I see photos of the inside of the shop. My kind of place.
Beautiful photos, Paulette! Well worth re-visiting! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletesuch sweetness...but that bear paw at the end...those bear paw blocks...OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteSigh!!! Another fabulous shop - wish we had something like that here.
ReplyDeleteI would love to shop there and just walking around would be fun, so many beautiful designs and love the way everything is displayed.

Yes, this would be my favorite shop, also. Great pics, felt like I was there. n
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures!! Love the Country Loft too!! Aren't the quilters in the San Diego lucky to have so many GREAT shops? Always like to visit all of them! Yes, Country Loft had the honor of being in Quilt Sampler a few years. A very deserving shop...wish they would do a "revisit" issue! Can't wait to see your next stop! Am anxious to see Stars and Scraps...haven't been there in awhile.
ReplyDeleteOH P , that was just wonderful and what fun "we" had, thanks. I know Claire had a life altering holiday!
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely amazing shop!
ReplyDeleteLOVED the pictures. I think they have completely redecorated the shop since I was there in July. That's impressive! It's a shop that I could just hide under a table and come to life at night. LOL
ReplyDeleteOuaah.. Thanks... It was wonderfull and i dream to be a mouse in this Shop....dommage trop loin!!!
ReplyDeleteDouce journée et bon quilting de FRANCE
