Yesterday I shared the Rag Quilts that some of the Clubhouse Quilters were working on but the rest of the gang was also hard at work…
For instance, Siena was working on this beauty…
I need to zoom in for a close up…Look at how the blocks change shape as you get to the dips…YIKES!!
Siena used her special Super Cut Plus June Taylor ruler to cut these blocks out.
Siena also shared what she is working on at home using her fancy embroidery machine. Siena teaches machine embroidery in her home town of Sechelt! These are some of the things her students will be making when she returns.
These are going to be heirloom items for sure!
Look at all the grid work that is needed to do this….yikes! Can’t wait to see this one finished!
Seattle Judy was hard at it!! Her work space is ALWAYS a thing of beauty…just LOOK at how neat and organized! You got to love it!!
She prepped her blocks before coming…and is now ready to start stitching this wonderful Civil War Doll Quilt. We share a love of CW fabrics!
This pattern can be found in this book which is FULL of the nicest patterns!
And at the end of the day…Judy’s area was still nice and tidy…with these sweet little blocks all lined up…ready to jump into this wee quilt!
Heritage Judy was busy making scrap happy place mats for Meals On Wheels back home! What a great way to use up your scraps!
Siena was busy cutting out the fabric strips to make this GORGEOUS quilt…
One of the new quilters was finishing off this wonderful topper!
I see another rag quilt in the making…
Karen was adding the borders to this wonderful quilt which she is making for HERSELF! If you remember, last year Karen was the quilter who made a quilt for each of her six or seven grand kids…! AND she was NEW to quilting! Well now it’s all about herself! You GO, Karen!
Anne was busy making this Rouenneries runner…we received the FABRIC and the PATTERN FREE last year in the Spring Fling Quilt Shop Hop…one of our annual events!
Sew what was I DOING while everyone was working on their masterpieces??
Obviously doing more talking than I should have been doing!!
The good news is… I caught it before it burst into flames and spread to the building! All’s safe at The Sands…at least for now! Maybe this applique using freezer paper isn’t for me after all…?? Focus…focus…FOCUS…
Which is hard to do…especially today!! Feels a little like Christmas morning!! Claire arrives at 11:15am and then LOOK OUT…let the FUN begins!! Would you believe…we have been planning this trip for at least 5 years! Seriously, we have even made out a schedule…in black and white, which I sent on to our chauffeur! Hubby will be gassing up the truck this morning…getting her ready! Ahhhh.. he is one lucky chauffeur! :o)) Bet he can’t wait!
Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P
U crack me up! Wow - lots of new projects. See you later tomorrow!!!!

That's one productive bunch of Club House quilters. Wowzer!!!
ReplyDeleteSiena's quilt is absolutely amazing. And all the other quilters are doing a great job on their quilts. I've made the little quilt Seattle Judy is working on and it is very sweet. Haven't quilted it yet, but it's on the list. Wonderful to have your friend Claire there, I'm sure you girls will be hitting all the wool shops. I think your hubby will be deserving of a medal when it's all over.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful quilting, going on, wish I could quilt with your group.

ReplyDeleteYou just have an endless supply of colorful stories there at the clubhouse, don't you? Such a neat way to spend your "free time". (I know, there's nothing free about it.)
ReplyDeleteHowdy! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where
ReplyDeleteI could get a captcha plugin for my comment form?
I'm using the same blog platform as yours and I'm having difficulty finding one?
