OK, we are on the last leg of our Quilt Shop race…the finish line is in sight…we have ONE more shop to visit…can you do it?
I THINK YOU CAN!! Pour yourself another coffee…sit back and enjoy the race because we are at the Fat Quarter Shop in Vista, CA!! One of my top three ALL TIME shops!! (NO, this is not the on-line shop! They spell their shop without the ‘s’ at the end of Quarter.)
Are you ready, Seattle Judy and Claire? (I believe what was uttered here was… “Just take the picture and let us IN!!”)
As for me…just seeing this lovely sign at the front door got the ol’ ticker thumping like crazy!
This young lady is the owner and she couldn’t have been nicer…or more helpful!
Ok…I’m not going to natter in the background…I’m going to let you wander on your own…BUT be prepared! We are talking ROOMS here…in a two story house! Imagine a room of shirting, a room of homespuns, a room of Civil War, a room of baby prints, a room…well you get the idea!! (Hey I heard THAT!… “She nattering again…Just let US WANDER!”)
OK…so wander…
Have you had enough? DO YOU WANT MORE?? OK…you’ve got it~
Have you ever been in a store with this many displays, quilts, fabric, STUFF? And so nicely displayed…!!
You can find the Fat Quarters Shop in Vista which is just outside San Diego, CA. Well worth the trip!!
Sure hope I can get this picture heavy post to publish!! Enjoy!!
Have a FUN FIRST FRIDAY (what dah yah mean it’s FEBRUARY already?) and Happy Quilting!~P

Wow, I'm so tired. I did a lot of wandering. Great photos, thanks so much for the tour. I loved the frames they have for cross stitching. Going to check to see if they are available on line.
ReplyDeleteI want to make my sewing room look like a quilt shop and I think I need to fill it up with mini quilts. You have given me an inspiration. First I have to finish my bucket list, it might take 2 years but i have these great ideas.
ReplyDeleteWow, sorry I missed it. Lots of good things to see.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh....I have not seen so much stuff in one store and there are lots I saw that I would love to make.....I'm in Nothern California and none of our quilt stores have that many candle mat patterns....they have more contempory patterns...beautiful, but all the same.....
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pictures Paulette.
ReplyDeleteDefinitively onmy to visit list next time I'm in the area.
Have fun with your purchases!
HAHAHA love the name of that shop! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful photos, too, Paulette. You're really helping me through this grey, rainy, cold weather here in Eugene. Now that January is finally behind us, and most all the doctor appointments have been kept, we can begin plotting our course towards sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThat "walk through' was truly terrific! Certainly makes me wish I was within driving distance since I saw a bunch of stuff I'd have purchased. On second thought, perhaps it's a good thing I'm at home working on projects that need attention. I sure appreciate you sharing your visit. Just remember, whoever leaves a trail of glitter will never be forgotten......
ReplyDeleteFABULOUS! Lots of Christmas ideas, I'm a sucker for anything that has Gingerbread men.
ReplyDeleteSo jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my golly...and I saw Sanrta everywhere! What an amazing shop...thank you for the show!
ReplyDeleteWOWSER! What alot of eye candy here ! Thanks for all the pictures I really enjoyed the tour !
ReplyDeleteSo fun to go shopping in my jammies and not spend a cent, lol. They do have a lot of nice patterns and display pieces, good thing I didn't really go in;) Love that baby quilt, really nice idea to use chenille.

I'm surrounded in a sea of boxes for the move and taking moments to catch blogs...sure glad I didn't miss this post! I spy a few things to remember for when I can play again! Some of the simple quilts got me!
ReplyDeleteOMG ! !
ReplyDeleteSome many lovelies in one place!
Hugs and thanks for ALL the pics
I'd have to camp out in there and they'd find DH asleep in the truck with cobwebs draped all around! I am curious about the quilt called the Diary Quilt out of wool...I can't find it anywhere on the internet???
ReplyDeleteWOW-WEEEE! My kind of store - the colors, the samples, the patterns, oh my - it is beeeeeeautiful! Thanks so much for sharing with us!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI sure have enjoyed your posts about Road to California! In fact, Mr. Squash has even liked them and agreed to go with me next year!
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Wow!! Another great shop!! One of my favorites too!! Aren't the quilters that live nearby lucky? Hope this isn't your last shop hop post...remember Stars and Scraps? Saw your picture from outside ...would love to see the inside...can hardly wait...thanks for always sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI want one of everything! LOVE this shop...one of these days when I save LOTS I'll go there! So much fun to travel these shops via your camera!
ReplyDeleteI love that shop! I always visit it when I'm in the area at my brother-in-law's house. Unfortunately that is only every other year or so.... Better than never! Actually it is good to be so far away, I would spend way too much money otherwise!:) Wonderful photos and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLouise in Sweden
You're right, I enjoy seeing it all! Lots of neat wool designs there!
ReplyDeleteYES, this was worth the stop and all the pictures to post. Thanks for taking us along. I saw a few that I'd like to make. Especially the Diary Quilt with the names of the blocks, were they stitched on there?
