Beading With the Best….

Today I got the beads out…Yup they’re still in there!!  I must confess that I haven’t opened this case since last year!!  Once the quilting bug bites it’s really hard to move onto another craft…but I promised my friend, Sandy that we would do some beading…

P1060857  So off we went to Hacienda Beads in Palm Desert for a lesson in how to knot beads…very fun and very easy!  Here is Sandy showing off her technique…she is using off white fresh water pearls and topaz swarovski crystals.  Very pretty!  P1060859  This is my mat…I used two sizes of green fresh water pearls as well as beige/brown fresh water pearls.P1060861

This is Claire, the owner of the shop.  She is such a great teacher..very patient and kind…didn’t yell at us once!!

This lady just finished her project…she has been working on it for days (weeks?) and it was gorgeous!!  I asked her to lower it a bit so that I could get a shot of her cleavage…she seemed to appreciate my humour…whew!

Tah-dah!!  And here we are with the finished products…Hard to see but you get the idea!!  And it only took us 4 hours…but it was 4 hours of fun…right Sandy?  Well…cleavage lady had fun!

  1. Very pretty...the necklaces, that is...!! I'm glad you didn't bring the beads for nothing!

And I liked the post below too! 4 shops in one day? We have one smallish shop here, finish, nothing else within reach. I'm not complaining, I think I'd be boggled by ONE of your sort of shops, let alone FOUR! And that highway? That's NOT funny- they have dual carriageways some places here, but that's it...
I think after due reflection, I'll stop in rural west of Ireland!

  6. I love your necklace, very delicat looking and elegant.

I think you are meant to get back to quilting now - my word verification was "basters".

  7. Did you really haul all your beading stuff with you from home "just in case"? I swear you must have the LARGEST RV in California! LOL! Looks like you had a blast though. And I suppose if you're going to have cleavage like that, you might as well make necklaces to draw attention, right? Wouldn't want to be overlooked.
