Halloween for a school teacher can be a nightmare….At our school all the teachers dressed in costumes… We would do crafts and games in the morning and party in the afternoon. It made for a VERY looooonnnng day! I’ve been a pumpkin, a Canadian Loonie, a pirate, a caveman, a dinosaur, an old lady (before I became an old lady!), a cow, a Victorian woman/saloon girl/hooker(Victorian woman in the classroom, saloon girl for the parents and hooker in the staffroom-great fun!), a bat, a dog, a cowboy, a vampire and a witch…to name a few….
Here I am leaving for work as the Blue Bird of Happiness….NOT! (Notice the yellow rubber gloves on my feet- try to walk in those all day!) ;o)
Imagine spending all day dressed like a cat! ME….OW!
Retirement is grand…..no more games, crafts and parties….
Well… maybe just one more costume…yes, it’s me snug and warm under my Halloween quilt….
I really must get some more beauty cream! Trading teaching for quilting has been rough and it has definitely taken it’s toll on me….ain’t life grand! I’m lovin’ it! What’s a few wrinkles…..when you get to quilt ALL DAY! Happy Halloween!
Have a scary, hairy Saturday and Happy Quilting!
What a costume, bet the kids loved it.
ReplyDeleteI am past the dressing up stage, I go as an old hag now;)

You must have been a hoot for the kids. The feet are too funny.
ReplyDeleteHave a good Halloween.
You must have been the coolest teacher around! You are definitely the coolest cat I've seen in a long time!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome costume! You look great in it!

Darling costumes...you were a good sport! Love your Fall quilt.
ReplyDeleteHa! Ha! to the last one- nice quilt, shame about the face...The worst I ever did as a teacher was in my first job which was a boy's boarding school in East Africa- two of us dressed as Witches and ran around the outside of the school during prep and dinner knocking on the windows! The Staff on duty were ready to string us up by the time they had wrestled about 70 hyper boys into bed that night!!!
ReplyDeleteHalloween is not big in Australia, unfortunately, Love reading about it all though, All the costumes were great, but i LOVED the last one!! LOL
ReplyDeletegave me quite a scare, well done. Happy Halloween to you all.
Oh Paulette...you are so funny!
ReplyDeleteThe yellow gloves on your feet cracked me up!!
Happy Halloween! Halloween is not big in Australia,..but we did have some littles ones come around..

I love all of your costumes! Ah, retirement and time to quilt--now that is music to my ears! Six more years as a high school teacher--then I will be there too!
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween!
Wow, you've had some great costumes!!! I love the Halloween quilt (and the mask lol) that you're snuggling under :)
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!! Love your costumes, especially that last one!
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes, but I think the last one is the best. Thanks for a good laugh on a miserable, wet Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! Maybe it's time for a dash of Sorberlene at least :)
ReplyDeleteHope you didn't get too spooked. Abbe
