Pumpkins and spice….

And everything nice!  That’s what this quilter is stitching up…So I put the Christmas stars into a zip-lock bag (for now) and started making pumpkins and sunflowers.P1030164

I am not happy with the pumpkin fabric that is in between each quilted pumpkin (too bright and orange) so I will try to find something more suitable….I do love the Dresden sunflowers though…I finally got to use my new Dresden ruler and it was VERY easy.

A good name for this ruler!

P1030171   They had a little mini workshop at the Road to California Quilt Show last winter and so I bought one then.  Making these blocks was fast and easy and I hand appliquéd (needle turned) the centers.  I can see a Dresden quilt looming in the future….no I am not going to throw the pumpkins aside and start on a Dresden quilt….although it is tempting!  :o)

Have a super Saturday and Happy Quilting!

  2. I've got one of those rulers too and have made a Dresden Plate quilt in the past. I'll try and find a photo of it and post it on my blog. It is a fantastic ruler thingy.

  5. I love your new quilt! The panel is great--love cats as much as dogs! Have a cat, need to get him on my blog someday! Love the sunflowers, I too bought one of those rulers this year, but haven't had a chance to try it--love the pumpkins. I think I have a great piece of pumpkin fabric. I will attach a picture in an email to you and if you like it, it is yours!

  7. This is a neat sunflower! I really like the plaids. I recently purchased a Dresden template, too, inspired by this same book! Great work, Paulette!
