Claire’s Sew and Tell…

Sidecar Claire has finished stitching this wonderful creation and it is just STUNNING!!  I showed you snippets of it this summer (you can read about it HERE)…and at the time I thought Claire was crazy…I mean really, just LOOK at all those pinwheels…all those points…all those little it-bity pieces!  Ouch!!  But persevere she did…and the results are spectacular!

pinwheel 2

Let me zoom in for a close-up…so soft like a cashmere sweater!  Wouldn’t this make a gorgeous cozy throw?!  Can you imagine the stitching THAT would involve…who could remain sane after attempting THAT feat!pinwheels 1

The pattern is called Pinwheel Blossom by Lily Anna Stitches and you can order it HERE at Lily Anna Designs On-line Shop.  Claire ordered her wool kit from Primitive Gatherings but I couldn’t find it on their site…maybe out of stock??  The little buttons are Teresa's hand dyed buttons from Hillcreek Designs

Primitive Gatherings did a wonderful job of  putting these colours together!  It would be a fun one to make out of scraps too!  I really like how the border of leaves holds everything together!!

Another winner, Claire…keep ‘em coming!  (Just wait until she retires…there will be no stopping her!!  Eight and a half months to go…but who’s counting!! haha)

Have a Magical Monday and Happy Quilting!~P

  6. This is definitely a beauty. And the colours of the wool are beautiful. Hope Claire will have her own blog when she retires so that we can follow all her wonderful wool work. Thanks to you, Paulette for sharing this one with us.
