Happy New Year!

Well it’s 7:30pm on New Years Eve and I am in my PJs…I think that says it all…Party Animals we are NOT!!  We did however wander over to the Rolling Hills Casino for their world famous Buffet.  When we got there we discovered that they had a promotion on…if you sign up to become a serious gambler then you got your buffet for half price!  Where do we sign?!  To start us on our way to becoming  gamblers they also gave us each $5 in free gambling money!  To make a long story short, two hours later we left the casino with VERY full tummies and $84 in WINNINGS! Note

“You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em

Know when to walk away, Know when to RUN…”NoteWhich is what we did…Thanks for the good advice Kenny! Party smile

We had a great day driving…beautiful sunny skies and spectacular scenery! And more importantly no snow on the road…tons of snow but not on the road!!

Here are some of my favourite shots of Grants Pass…

At the Siskiyou Summit~

Down in the Valley…the valley so low…

And my favourite~ Mt. Shasta…took my breath away!  Stunning!

Today it’s on to Santa Cruz on the Monterey Peninsula!!  AND hopefully NO more snow…although we heard it snowed in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday!  Yikes!

Have a Super New Years Day and Happy Quilting!~P

  4. Glad the snow stayed off your roads too Paulette! We had snow along the roads all the way from Minnesota to Georgia and dry roads too. Mount Shasta is amazing. Safe travels.

Love the pictures, but it sure does make me miss the west coast. I used to live in San Jose, CA.

The pictures are beautiful Paulette! Wow, Mt Shasta is gorgeous! And I thought Mt Rainier was beautiful!! Sounds like you're headed for some warmer weather. I live in Ohio and it was 57 degrees yesterday- unbelievable for December weather.
    Enjoy yourselves!:)

  9. 5 years ago I drove down to Palm Springs to celebrate Christmas so I know that drive well.

After going to the Rose Parade [where it rained for the first time in 50 years we headed back home.

Fresh snow had fallen on Mount Shasta the night before and in Mount Shasta City there was about 2 feet of snow. Just lovely.

I'm sorry the quilt shop there closed.

Enjoy Santa Cruz and the Monterey area.

From Sunny New Westminster B.C. Happy New Year!

  12. Those beautiful snow scenes match the theme of your blog header but not for much longer by the sound of things.
That was a very lucky way to finish off the old year and start the new, hopefully that luck stays with you. Safe travelling.

  17. What fantastic scenery, thanks for the pics.

Your New Year's Eve was good wasn't it? Loads of food AND you came out with more money than you went in with. What more could a girl ask? Oh yes, I know. That the same thing happened in a fabric shop. Imagine, coming out wiht loads of goodies, and more money than you went in with.
