Kim and I spent one glorious hour at The Quilter’s Coop in Temecula before we met the men folk for lunch. (See yesterday’s post).
As we strolled back to the truck I spotted a shop with a sign that said “THE WOOL LADY”!! It was at that moment that I became “The Crazy Lady”!! I of course slammed on my brakes and yelled EUREKA…and said “Give me 2 minutes!”…and popped into the shop!! Leaving my husband, Kim and her husband and the three dogs with their mouths hanging open…I could read their minds…”HOW RUDE!!” But hey, we’re talking WOOL here…Wool is REALLY hard to find!
OMGosh!! I was in heaven!! Wool…GLORIOUS WOOL!!
I am sure that I was hyperventilating…I mean look at all this wool!! Straight ahead and to the left are all Fat Quarters for $12.50…and it’s gorgeous hand dyed wool!! To the Right..smaller pieces…which I didn’t look at. And along the bottom wool by the yard!
I grabbed two FQ of green wool because I really need greens…
A whole wall of wool penny rug patterns!!…A WHOLE WALL!! And I didn’t even glance at them…NO time!
Lovely little displays…which I am looking at now…for the first time…
All kinds of threads to use while working with Wool…didn’t even glance at it!!
Wool roving and threads…every colour in the rainbow!!
Penny Rug Kits…in the cutest containers..
The Wool Lady was very nice and even gave me a free wool sample! I assured her that I would be back another day with plenty of time to REALLY look…I’m sure that she will remember me…The Crazy Lady who entered her shop at a sprint with camera in hand, leaving a trail of drool throughout her shop before dashing off clutching her lovely newly purchased green wool!
If you are a Wool Lover then you NEED to find this shop!! It’s located in Old Town Temecula right across the street from the Quilter’s Coop to the Right! See you get TWO shops for the price of one…my husband is thrilled!
Speaking of Wool…my friend Claire finished her Autumn Wall Hanging…It’s a Buttermilk Basin design…SEW cute! Claire would LOVE this shop!!
Have a special Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P
Oh, you lucky girl. I'm eating my heart out!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome shop!!
ReplyDeleteI never find places like that! I sympathize with your situation of having a car full of impatient people outside waiting for you. Somehow that is how it seems to go! I bet they are all over it by now.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an amazing shop! I need green wool too!
ReplyDeleteAnother great store to stop in.
ReplyDeleteI plan on hitting some and taking the scenic route to look at the rivers. With one care for now, need to do things while we have the time on weekends. Of course there is a quilt shop that is open today too;)
Debbie
I saw your post about the Coop and I have to get my fix, I'm going to go down there tomorrow, and I forgot about the Wool Lady, I went there during the summer. She looks like she has added a lot more to her inventory, I'll have to walk over there too after I go to the Coop.
ReplyDeleteI've been the the Quilter's Coop many times, in fact they carry on of my bag patterns but I had no idea this was across the street. Thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteYou are a crack up!! Loved your post.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I tried to put you on my blogroll again this morning and couldn't. I was able to put on another blog so I'm wondering if maybe there is something wrong on your end?? Maybe it's just my computer.
Hugs to you!
I'm unlikely to ever visit the physical shop, but I did find the online shop: http://www.woolylady.com/
ReplyDelete*grin*
Oh nelly! What a great shop! Are you going to visit the Temecula quilt store? I follow her blog.

LOL Paulette, If I would have been with you we could have two ladies drooling! What a gorgeous shop!
ReplyDeleteOh my! You must stop these posts. I don't think my poor laptop can stand all the drool as I look at your posts.lol The lovely quilt shop yesterday and today the wool shop, what will it be tomorrow? Thanks for sharing all these lovely places with us.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely looking shop! I heart wool and have never been in a shop exclusively devoted to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a FANTASTIC DAY! You will get me converted to wools in no time! We will have to slobber up some shops again - ha!
ReplyDeleteDitto what I said in the last post!! I can't dye everything myself. Or sell all those patterns. What a treasure trove of patterns.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop...I would have loved it!
ReplyDeleteMicki
What a happy find - yep, I bet she remembers you, lol!
ReplyDeleteSeems another trip to Temecula is on the agenda!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have two great shops for one trip.

OK, I am so with you...omg...need a shop around here like that... I think my tongue is on the floor... I've wanted to try to my hand with wool penny rugs....drooles me..lol..thanks for sharing ...your so lucky...
ReplyDeleteI know where you are going when you get back from The Road to CA Show... A i am so jealous, wish I had a shop like that near by. You are soooo lucky.
ReplyDeleteI am salivating as I look at all those colours in WOOL! Wow,what a find Paulette! I am sure you will be back...and back...and back! As we travel I am having fun with my new WOOL project. With such limited space in our wee rv(!)I had to get creative with bringing along "creative projects"! So I pieced and sewed a large cuddly blanket...that we now use on our bed in the rv.. out of the wool pieces that I dyed this summer in all my favorite colours...Yum! Took along lots of coordinating wool, floss, etc so I can applique BIG flowers and ??? on it as we travel! I am letting our travels inspire my designs! Wool is just the best!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! I am so excited for you! I can relate to that whole "crazy lady" thing too... I did that in a fabric store in St. Louis!! It happens!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this shop info....looks absolutely wonderful!!!! I hope to make it when we head south.
ReplyDeletechristine
A store completely filled with wool?! Oh my, what a lucky lady to have a shop like that near by.
ReplyDeleteI bet you were almost more excited to find this shop than you will be over any quilt shops you visit this trip.
ReplyDeleteClaire's runner is wonderful.
I think I would remember you too!! Funny, I am now calling my BFF The Wool Lady too. She is the queen of finding wool at the thrift shop, CHEAP, in garments. I have been repurposing linen and silks. Loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness....that shop is definitely drool worthy! I think I need to make a trip to CA.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing shop and find! I think I would need oxygen in this shop! Great shop finding Paulette. Loved the post.
ReplyDeleteSCORE for Paulette!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere's the nearest airport? Do you have room for someone to sleep on your couch? I really, really need to see this! blessings, marlene
