DONE!..well almost…!

Last year at this time, Gwen, one of the SANDS’ quilters started this project…It was a kit that she bought at the Road to California.  She thought it would be a fun project to work on every Wednesday while at the Sands…Personally I thought it would be a project that you would work on till you went stark raving mad!

Can you see the wee little blocks…they were all paper pieced?

Every week Gwen would work away at these little triangles…

Well, a year later and several blocks later… look at this quilt NOW!

P1110290

Gwen DID IT!! Isn’t it incredible!!

P1110291

I threw a penny on it so that you could see how wide each strip is…1/4 of an inch!!  YIKES!!

P1110292

You really have to admire a quilter who can stick with it and get the job done…

P1110293

and not go crazy in the process!!  Wow…STUNNING!  Good for you, Gwen!!  You got ‘er done…well almost!

What a great day in paradise…It was a gorgeous HOT day……Perfect pool weather which means getting the dreaded bathing suit on!!  The day I’ve been dreading!  YIKES!  All that snow white flesh…not a pretty sight!!  So after donning the suit and wrapping my sarong around my waist and then tying my huge beach towel around my body, just in case the sarong should fall off…I waddle off to the pool.  Of course there are tons of people lounging around the pool…WATCHING…At water’s edge I drop the towel, then the sarong and bound in before I can hear any gasps!  Whew!  I’m in…think I’ll just float around until everyone goes home…The first time is always the hardest…

Have a Fun Friday and Happy Quilting!~P

PS…Have they gone home yet?

  19. It's OK, they've all gone, you can come out now.

That quilt is amazing. I don't think I'd have had the patience. How does Gwen plan to quilt it? Surely not SID in every seam? That would take forever and a day I should think.

  23. That is one beautiful little quilt. I love doing Miniatures and would love to find his pattern. Could you please ask Gwen the pattern name and publishing company so I could try to track it down? Sounds like others would like the same info. Thanks so much. Love your blog by the way...
