The Quilter’s Funk…

..and NO it’s not a dance!!  It’s that period of time between projects…you know…you want to start something new but you just don’t know what?  So you just sit there looking through books and magazine…getting NOTHING done at all!  That’s been me since finishing Rooibos!!

My friend Claire is in the same state…so this morning I told her..”That’s it! I’m going to do Starry Night!” (a pattern that I ordered from Bonnie Sullivan…made out of soft flannels…love it!!)  But where did I put the fabric..?  So while looking for these flannels I came across these two little bundles of goodness…

EUREKA!! CHANGE OF PLANS!  I AM GOING TO USE THEM UP!!  It was like a calling…meant to be!!  The music started and I was doing the konga in my sewing room!! Fuuuuunk is oooover…!! boom!  Fuuuuunk is oooover!  Boom!  Come on join on…

I bought these two bundles from the Country Loft this winter…found them in their bathroom of all places!! They had a ton of stuff in their biffy…I was in there forever…but I’m sure they are use to quilters going in there and coming out, much later, with their eyes glazed over…yes, from looking at fabric!!   Go ahead have a close up…aren’t they wonderful?  The textures are incredible!!

Let them strut their stuff…nice hey!!

So I went to my stash and pulled this other fabric to team up with these beauties…

Hopefully, I will start cutting later today…What do I say to this fabric- “It’s going to hurt me much more that it’s going to hurt you!!  Come to mama…”  (I always feel that way when I LOVE the fabric I am about to cut up…I think that’s another quilter’s ‘thing’…)

Oh..And before I forget…Sentimental Stitches has posted Block 9 of the Beyond the Cherry Tree BOM!  Hustle over now to download it as it is only available for free for a short time!!  LOVE this quilt!!

  10. All you need to do is tell them they're going to the beauticians, and they'll be even more beautiful when you've finished with them.
