Now THAT’S a load of SCRAP!

I’m off to my Hand Quilting Club in just a few minutes and it just dawned on me that I haven’t shared Leah’s newest scrappy quilt!! She is the member of our group who takes a bag of someone else’s crap scraps and turns them into a stunning quilt…like the one she brought in last week!!

I LOVE THIS QUILT!!

Isn’t it gorgeous?  And all from ‘donations’ from quilting friends…you know the stuff you would toss!

If you take a close look you’ll see that they aren’t outstanding scraps..

..but step back and man do they sing!!

Leah is donating this quilt to our Hand Quilting group!  The plan is we will hand quilt it and then sell it to some lucky person.  (Know of anyone looking for a quilt to buy?)  The money received will go into paying the rent for the hall where we meet.  Isn’t that thoughtful of Leah…it’s just the kind of gal she is!

Also at Hand Quilting, Janice was trying out a new marking pen and it worked great.  The ‘ink’ shows up blue and then when you have finished stitching you use the white end to write over the blue and the blue ink disappears…like magic…Kids would love this pen…but  quilters will love it even more!!  Presto gone!  Got to love that!

I don’t see who makes the pen?  Hmmm- that was brilliant of me!!  I will have to get that info for us!  Janice is off to Halifax this week to  see her new grand-daughter. So it may be a week or two…

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a wonderful, wacky Wednesday and of course…Happy Quilting!!

  3. Love the scrappiness of the quilt. I love to use scraps too. Do you and the other members have a venue where you can have a raffle for the quilt? Old Home day, at your local library, etc? Sell tickets $1 a ticket or 6 for $5. Just curious what your group would want for the quilt.

  9. It amazes me when I see what people do with scraps. I am so jealous of the ability to combine leftovers with such class. Loved yesterday's pattern and fabrics. What a great find, like shopping without spending any money.

As for the pen, I was going to tell you it's by Clover, but someone else already did, so I wont!
