A little of this…A little of that..

I forgot to share the pictures from my Wednesday’s Hand quilting group….

A new quilt went up…here the girls are getting the frame ready- the backing is tacked onto the frame boards,

..then the batting and the quilt top are basted on before the quilting begins…

Done.. here it is..It’s a lovely scrappy quilt and is a joy to hand quilt…very soft and the way Kathleen wants it quilted you don’t have to cross over too many seams.  This quilt is going to be fun to hand quilt!

Janice, our new Grammy, finished this sweet little quilt for her first little grand-daughter, Hazel.  Janice has been on Cloud 9 with the birth of little Hazel.

Mabeline sewed the binding on this quilt and brought it in for sharing…It is just stunning, done in navy and brown Asian fabrics.  We finished hand quilting it last week-

This is another quilt that Leah found at THE Thrift Shop.  Now you are probably wondering what kind of thrift shop this is…I mean really.. Leah has found some incredible Quilting gems!!  It is Leah’s Church Thrift Shop, open only on Fridays.  The average age of the parishioners is probably 80+ so I would say that this quilt top is another Dead Lady’s Quilt top!!  For a dead lady, didn’t she do a wonderful job?  The quilt is just gorgeous and the hand quilting is the icing on the top!  Just lovely!

So while you are reading this I will be on my way to Salt Spring Island with two van loads of cackling ladies…yes we cackle..a lot!!  We do this once a year and always in June.  We take in the sights, shop the Artisan Market in Ganges and look in all the shops, then have lunch at one of the waterside restaurants (I’m sure the waitresses roll their eyes when they see us coming) and then we head home, cackling the whole way…oh and did I tell you there is a wonderful Quilt Shop in Ganges…yup~I’m taking my camera!!
