Geeze Louise…I slept in! I rarely do that…but then again I AM on holidays (One BIG holiday!! Ain’t retirement grand!!:o)
SEW let me show you what came off the quilting rack…and went onto the kitchen table…
It needs ironing…but I’ll do that after I have another coffee.
Let’s zoom in for a close up…the white looks almost like a white linen… but it’s the big stitch hand quilting that really pops this quilt!
Here’s the backing…it’s really white too but for some reason the flash makes it look yellow…pretend it’s white…
So all in all, I am VERY happy with this little number! And I am even happier with the PVC pipe Quilting Loom that I bought at a garage sale…it worked like a charm!
Well it’s 8:40am and half my day is gone…don’t you hate when your day goes by too quickly!! SEW much to do, SEW much to make!! Such is the life of a quilter…Life is sweet!
Have a magical Monday (what’s left of it…haha) and Happy Quilting!~P
Your quilt is beautiful. I love to see a quilt on the table.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little quilt. I have yet to try quilting my own quilt, but I think I need to try that method. As far as retirement goes...{sigh}, I can only dream about it for another 6 years :(
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous quilt and the backing is so sweet. I too love retirement. Although I don't get much chance to sleep in. Our elderly cat likes to get up around 4:30 or 5 a.m. and pace the house meowing, meowing, meowing until I get up and let her out. By that time, I might as well make my coffee and get up. It's a lovely time of day though, because it is so quiet. Perfect for doing a bit of knitting or hand sewing. BTW, I just love the big stitch quilting you did.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me, I'm a morning person and hate sleeping late. It really feels like half my day is lost. That quilt is beautiful. You have just the right fabric and the stitching does make it pop. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteLOL, you call that late, haha.
ReplyDeleteI do miss getting up early though, something magical about the morning hours.
Love that piece, looks beautiful on your table.

Time to switch to decaf, Paulette! Just kidding. I had one of those quilt racks. I really did love it. Wonder what happened to that thing. Maybe I sold it....... Maybe I should switch back to regular!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks great!! Love the shape of your table, is it an antique?
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt, I think I have said before I love blue and white, so you would think I would have made a blue and white quilt by now wouldn't you...nope not done one yet, but it's on my "to do list" LOL. Linda x
