My Dream Job…

Have you ever thought about what your ‘dream job’ would be?

It’s a no brainer for me…my dream job would be to get paid to visit every quilt shop across Canada and the USA…I wouldn’t have to get paid much…just enough to spend on things that caught my eye…say $50  $100 per shop (it is MY dream after all!) Can’t you see it?  I would be the Simon Cowell of the Quilting World..AND I would be brutally honest..this shop sucks…is stale and outdated…the shelves were empty..no appeal…lacked flair….  The shop owners would shake in their Birkenstocks…Oh…and they would let me take pictures of whatever I wanted!  When my review would be favourable and glowing, the owners would bask in the accolades and they would hang a sign above the door saying “This Shop was Sweet P Approved”! …Yes…in my dreams…oh and I would also be young and pretty…it is MY dream after all!

What would your dream job be?

Our scenic moment was this~ El Capitan in the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

So today we are in Carlsbad, New Mexico! (Carlsbad is famous for their caverns in the Guadalupe Mountains…)

Would you believe I’m off spelunking!  Sounds almost sinful, doesn’t it! If you don’t hear from me again, I was probably speared by a giant stalactite!

Have a marvellous Monday and Happy Quilting

  1. I like your dream job and I'm applying to be your trusty assistant. I will gladly carry your laptop so you can make notes about 'the good, the bad & the UGLY'. I'd gladly carry your bags of goodies too (probably wouldn't be any goodies in the UGLY, though)

Enjoy spelunking - does sound sinful.

  2. Now that is the ideal job! My dream job would involve being able to handle and touch gorgeous fabrics all day long - not necessarily ever cutting into them, but just fondling them, and letting them know they are loved.

  3. I always thought being a camping critic would be a fun job. Then we could travel and stay at places for free. Then I could use the money to buy stuff from all the places we drive by;)

  7. So then we'd all look for the P rating on shops and the ones with a low P we would shake our heads and pass by...as if! I think if you got that job you'd have so many assistants you'd look like the Pied Piper, not Simon Cowell!!! Spelunking always sounded a bit like spitting, to my way of thinking, you know like in the poem 'When I grow old I will wear purple and learn to spit'?

  10. Scuse me? I'm a bit ignorant here, but what is spelunking? If it's anything like applique I don't want to do it, otherwise? .... Maybe,it depends on what sort of technique it is.

  11. My dream job would be to be on a tropical island and look for birds! Nothing too drastic. then I could keep sewing while I look up in the sky.
I do like the idea of reviewing for a travel magazine though. I love travelling. But not to cold climates.
Did you drive into Mexico too this year?
