The Carlsbad Caverns were incredible!! Words do not do it any justice…it was like being on another planet! Have a look~
This is the entrance to the caverns- see the long windy side walk down…. (There was also an elevator but this was more fun- part of the whole experience!)
We took over 300 pictures so I am only going to show you a few of my favourites. The self lead tour took just over 3 hours and cost only $6 each…cheap!!
The temperature down here is a constant 56F degrees regardless of the weather outside.
I loved this section of the cavern…called the Whale’s Teeth!
And I’m sure If I took this rope ladder down this tunnel…it would lead to a cute little..
quilting shop!
Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!!
Wow! That is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteCaverns are so neat. I went to a nice one in West Virginia when I was younger.

Thank you for sharing. I've always wanted to visit there.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you let me know what's down that ladder...after you, adventure quilter!
ReplyDeleteAre you saying that people can go down in that hole?
ReplyDeleteIt is great sharing your journey! Happy travels!
ReplyDeleteIf you venture down that hole you could end up in Australia! What a very different view of the world down there. Looks like you have been living in a postcard over the last couple of days.
ReplyDeleteI'd be waiting for orcs or goblins to jump out at me lol - it's beautiful!
ReplyDeletePaulette,
ReplyDeleteI used to write to a girl who was from Carlsbad and she sent me a postcard or two from the Caverns- I haven't thought about it for a long time. I really enjoyed your cave tour.
Regards,
Anna
As someone who is afraid of heights and suffers from claustrophobia, I don't think I'll be going there anytime soon. Even the photos made me shiver, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
