An SOS by fellow blogger, Audrey of Quilty Folks Blog has been sounded!! Her quilting mom lost her whole entire
STASH in a fire…so she has put out the call…make her mother’s day by sending her mom a fat quarter!
I have a better idea…take a big envelope and address it to Audrey’s Mom~
Then stuff it with as many FQs as that envelope will hold…tape it shut…and mail it off! Trust me…you will get a warm and fuzzy feeling as you lick that envelope shut!
I can’t imagine losing my stash…can YOU?! BUT imagine Joyce’s delight to be opening a hundred of these envelopes filled with fabric! Come on…join in! We all have spare FQs!! It’s what good Quilting Blogger DO!
Go to Quilty Folks Blog for the full scoop!!
You are right! I have tons of fats! You don't happen to know what she likes? Guess it doesn't matter. This is so sweet of you! XO
ReplyDeleteHeading to the post office today!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice idea, we all have more than we can ever use.

It will be in the mail today thanks for starting this. Sally
ReplyDeleteWonderful of you to pass on the info to everyone. We all have too much. I'll be sending out some today.
ReplyDeletePerfect idea. Imagine losing our fabric.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Paulette! You are the sweetest person! I really was so nervous about this, but you just made my day.: I can't believe how generous quilters always are--just amazing.:)
ReplyDeleteI'm in!
ReplyDeleteThe package is stuffed and ready to ship!
ReplyDeleteEven though it is "just" fabric, I would be heart broken to lose my stash. Package on the way.
ReplyDeleteI am off to my fabric closet and pulling fabrics to ship off. Thanks for letting us know we have a quilter in distress. We lost our home to fire in 98,I know how she feels.
ReplyDeleteI'll get an envelope ready to send off to her on Friday. Thanks for sharing this! :0)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a good idea, but it has just occurred to me that all of us who are shipping across the border should keep the packages fairly small and fill out the customs forms with "gift" clearly marked. I would hate for Joyce to get dinged with duties!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea.. I have lots I can share!
ReplyDeleteThanks for increasing awareness of this. Sad when anyone looses a home, their sewing stash, due to fires. With all the fires in California, over the years, I sadly know several that have had this happen too. But I love how quilters rally to help with donations. And, while there are times when they may not yet be ready to quilt, fondly fabric, receiving packages from others, can bring a good quilty hug and smile to their day. I'll definitely send them some fabric and a virtual hug too.

Can't wait to put a big ole bunch of my stash and some charm packs together tomorrow to send. It won't make up for the main things lost but hope it will help put a smile on her face for the fabric stash she lost. I have way more than I need in this lifetime!
ReplyDeletehow sad to have lost all the fabric, do hope she gets plenty sent to her, if only I lived in USA I would have sent some but postage is so expensive and to be honest still building up a stash myself
ReplyDeleteSent a big box stuffed with fabric and thread today! I know how bad the fire was - my niece was one of the smoke jumpers and nearly lost her own home.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Hi Paulette!
ReplyDeleteI am in! Thanks to the kindness of strangers I was able to get the fabric I was looking for!
Thanks to you and all the wonderful people who helped me out, with suggestions and contacts and fabric too!
Take care, Leslie
Great idea to spread the word about Audrey’s Mom.

ReplyDeleteThank you for doing this. I will probably send some larger pieces because I'm wanting to downsize some. I have way too much sewing and craft stuff! I want it, but when I look at it, it overwhelms me and I don't get anything done because I'm so crowded. This will help me probably more than it helps her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea Paulette!! I'm heading to the US border tomorrow and have some fabrics to spare, so I'll be stuffing my FRE tonight :-)
