The Quilt Finale…

Pour yourself a coffee, sit back and enjoy the show….that’s the Victoria Guild Quilt Show!

I love this quilt!!  It reminds me of the shirt quilt that I made last year…must get it quilted and finished!!P1070903

What a great way to experiment with techniques and blocks and end up with a gorgeous quilt!!

 P1070904

Another scrappy quilt…I love a scrappy/white quilt!!

P1070901

I thought this small quilt was very effective…

P1070905

..all because of this guy…there is one in every crowd!!

P1070906

A fall quilt…I like the way the logs wrap around the leaf.P1070910

This quilt was stunning.  I live in Cowichan Bay and it really does look like this.  The artist did an appliqué of the town and it is so realistic!!

P1070911

The quilter must live in one of the houses over looking the Bay.  Gorgeous!

P1070912

I love this dresden..the subtle colours and the greens…loved it!

P1070913 P1070914

P1070916

I think this technique is called Cathedral Windows…I watched a demo of it at the Road to California and it LOOKED easy….but you know how it goes…seeing and doing are two different things!!  It is such a lovely technique!!

P1070946-1

The back is just as nice as the front…

 P1070918

A flower garden…wouldn’t this look great done in wools…

P1070927

An abstract…gorgeous!!

P1070928

A close-up…..P1070930

A  sort of crazy quilt…love the strong colours…

 P1070936

Wouldn’t you just LOVE to whip this out come FALL… P1070945

So that’s it for the quilt part of the show.  I still have to share the Fibre Arts Quilts…incredible!  But will save that for another day!!  After all it IS Sunday and I want you to get outside and enjoy all that Sunday sun!!

Have a Super Sunday and Happy Quilting!

  5. Nice to see the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler quilt. I wish you'd taken a full picture of it. I like to see how the quilter did her borders. I liked the bulb showing in the flower quilt too, very original.

  9. You have inspired me to sew and create but I have to stifle those urges and go to work. The upside is I can buy more fabric!
