On Wednesday it was our annual Christmas “Lunch” so instead of quilting in the morning we did something a little different…we made wrapping paper! We took rice paper and fan folded it twice and then dipped each corner into the dye.
Aren’t they pretty! When we were finished the room was full of brightly decorated paper…so pretty and fun to do! (Reminded me of the ‘60s when we tie dyed t-shirts…does anyone else remember those wild carefree days?)
In the meantime some of the more dedicated quilters kept stitching…
Then it was off to Elaine’s gorgeous house (overlooking the ocean)…for a full course turkey dinner with ALL the trimmings! As you can see it was a beautiful sunny day! And of course…there was dessert!! Trifle that was so good it was sinful!BUT my day didn’t end there….I went off to my annual Sorority Christmas dinner….YES- another delicious Turkey dinner-with all the trimming. AND yes I ate everything! Delicious!
Everything was lovely - hosted by Linda in her gorgeous new family room and the meal was cooked by her hubby, Ian! Delicious…but I sure couldn’t do that everyday!! I went to bed that night stuffed! Don’t you just LOVE Christmas! Nothing like spending the day with wonderful friends, eating delicious food- times two! Now I need to hibernate for the Winter….
Have a super-duper Saturday and Happy Quilting!
What a wonderful group of friends to celebrate with.
ReplyDeleteTye dye? What is that, lol.
I loved to do Batik, if I had the room, I would love to do some of my own fabrics.

Your paper dyeing sounds like so much fun and sure looks pretty! My DH has had two Christmas lunches this week and a third will be next week, luckily only one invitation per day! I will have to wait until I cook our Christmas dinner on the 24th.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had so much fun! I loved seeing all of the pics!

what a wonderful time, at least now you won't have to eat for a few days lol! all the more time for making. Love the paper, so pretty, great stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby has to do the cooking if he wants to eat cooked food, i am Really lousy at it!
If we have people over it is now a standing joke, Who's cooking?
That paper is lovely - I remember the good ol' days of tie-dye! What a great day of food and friends you had, I love this season!
ReplyDeleteSooo, will you be having turkey on Christmas Day?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful day.
Oh that's funny having two dinners in a day! I'm surprised you could actually get home and didn't have to do a Winnie-the-Pooh and stick in the doorway for a month! Oh wait! Your friends weren't called Rabbit, were they!
