While at JoAnn’s…

I made the mistake of flipping through this book…TWICE!  The second time I had a 50% off coupon in my purse…yup, one more flip through and this book was coming home with me for the low price of $12.50…about the same price as one ‘of those expensive quilting magazines’!  SCORE!

This book is full of applique ideas…without being too cutsey (if you know what I mean..)…and the author, Clare Kingslake  gives lots of tips on doing applique…plus a lot of the projects are done in wool.

Here’s the back of the book…so nice to see some ‘Spring Pennies’

I LOVE this quilt…(sorry about the quality of the pic)…and yes the applique on this quilt is done in wool!  BUT you could also use fabric..

Just one block from this pattern would make a lovely small quilt or penny or wall hanging.  There are several pattern in this book that I love…this is just one small snippet of what is inside this book!!

SEW be warned…if you should see this book sitting on a book shelf make sure you have a 50% coupon in your purse before you flip through it, as it just might follow YOU home!

I heard that there was a terrible storm back home on Vancouver Island yesterday…high winds and lots of rain and sleet! OUCH!  (It was all the talk while in the POOL yesterday!  That’s what Snowbirders do best…float around the pool, talking about the nasty weather back home…:) I hope everyone’s power is back on and you are enjoying a wonderful sunny day today…it is after all SPRING BREAK!  I’m also hoping this is the last of the nasty weather…because we are heading home in ELEVEN days!! Can’t wait to see those daffodils!

Have a Terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P

  4. Oh I'll try to not look, but what you've shown us, it looks too good to pass up. But I'll heed the warning and make sure I have a coupon, thanks for the tip!

  5. I'll have to look for that book. Yesterday we had high winds, rain and woke up to snow, and it's snowing those large flakes right now. The mountain passes are suppose to get very heavy amounts of snow here in OR so hopefully the weather will be nice by the time you head home.

  11. Thanks for the great book review.

This morning just before 10 it was a mix of rain and sleet for about 20 minutes, then lots of wind and sunny skies for the afternoon.

Chilly all day here in New Westminster, enjoy the sun and pool while you can!
