I Saved the Last Dance…

…for this quilt!  Yup, it was the ONLY wool quilt at the Palm Springs Quilt Show…and what a beauty!!  It deserved the Last Dance AND the BLUE ribbon for sure!

This is one of Lisa Bongean’s patterns from Primitive Gatherings!  Just wonderful…P1170588

AND would you believe that this is Roberta’s FIRST try at Wool Applique!!  I almost fell over when I read that!!  Imagine tackling this one on your first go with wool!

P1170589

Lots of colour and so many little pieces…and Roberta’s workmanship was first class…hence the blue ribbon!

P1170590

Here’s a picture of Roberta…(by the way I love the way the Palm Springs’ Guilds put a picture of the quilter beside the write up of the quilts!  I was amazed to see so many young quilters and there was even a few male quilters!)

P1170591

It’s a beauty for sure!!  I wonder what Roberta is stitching now…

Well we’ll have to wait till 2014 to find out!!  :)

Have your own Woolie Wednesday and Happy Quilting!~P

  1. I have this quilt in my arsenal of kits to do and every time I see it I just want to jump in and get started - never enough hours in a day. Thanks for another kick to get it started :).

  5. This is indeed a beautiful, beautiful quilt, and certainly deserving of the blue ribbon. If this is her first wool quilt, can you imagine what her fabric quilts must look like?

  8. Thanks for sharing the Blue Ribbon Quilt. Good Idea to put the pictures on the tags at the show. I love the look on people's faces when they find out our Local Quilter "Jes" is a GUY. He does beautiful Hand applique and quilting. The picture would save any confusion.

  11. Beautiful quilt. I have been working on the same one on and off, for about a year. Need to finish the borders. Lucky enough to be an hour or so from Primitive Gatherings. Love all of Lisa's patterns and shop. Mary
