Hey Terry…I LIKE your quilt…A LOT!

This week has been a whirlwind of activities!!  All fun things of course…But you know what THAT means…other things get neglected…which means the laundry has piled up and taken over our little trailer…and I am down to the last pair of…well TMI (Too Much Informations.. so I will stop there!)  So this morning I’m off to the laundry mat!!  For once I am looking forward to doing it…I am planning on sitting by the pool and stitching hexagon while the clothes wash and dry!  Maybe take a dip or two…

So while I am at the laundry let me give you something pretty to look at…I took a few pictures while at the Palm Springs Quilt Show yesterday…and this was my favourite quilt!

The stars were all done by the English Paper Pieced method…and the Quilt has a lot of the Japanese Daiwabo fabrics in it, with a sprinkle of small print cottons.

Terry Peterson was the talented quilter who made this quilt…and I just loved the way she added subtle colour here and there!!  Notice the covered button in the middle of each star, which gives it another dimension….very clever!

And VERY nice use of dark and light beige fabric….

P1170602

It’s a simple design…but Terry relies heavily on the textures of the wonderfully rich Japanese fabrics!

Even the quilting is simple…but effective!

…can you see the machine stitching?

Yup…I like this quilt…A LOT…

What no ribbon for Terry??  Oh well…sometimes owning the quilt is enough reward and having someone tell you how much they like your quilt!  SEW that’s why I’m HERE!!  “Hey, Terry, I LOVE YOU Quilt…it’s a WINNER in my books!!”

Yup…another one added to the ol’ Bucket List!!

Have a Sunny Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P

  9. What a beautiful quilt - and fabulous fabrics. Very soothing in those colors. Does the maker have a website? Also, do you know the name of the block? It's so pretty and I don't think I have seen it before. Thanks for sharing! (Don't you just hate it when we run out of those TMI's??)

I'm looking outside at another raging snowstorm :( How long do you think it would take to drive from New Brunswick to your trailer....I'd sleep on the roof if i have too lol! Have a wonderful day Sweetie!
