Christmas Sew-A-Long…the Results Show…

Time to Show and Tell the results from the Christmas Sew-A-Long with Joanna…

MY INSPIRATION for this project came from SEW WE QUILT BLOG.  Melissa gave an awesome tutorial on how to turn squares of fabrics into something wonderful in the matter of minutes!  She took 16 patch squares and with two slices of her rotary cutter, transformed the blocks…CHECK IT OUT HERE!!

Sew yesterday I got out my two Charm Packs of Late Bloomers by Sandy Gervais and sewed as many 16 patches as the charm packs would allow me to…P1170619

And then sliced corner to corner…go see Melissa’s tutorial for a close-up.  This is the result of cutting two 16 patch blocks…

And this is what I got from TWO Charm packs…

Plus a left over block…

I’m not sure if I will make two small table toppers and a hot pad…or one large tablecloth and a hot pad…all I know is that it was hot out!

My quilt partner had had enough…see the green squeak toy…yup, I had to toss it from one end of the trailer to the other…about 100 times…in between stitching!!

80+F means a trip to the park…doesn’t it?

P1170655

YUP…it sure does!!  Here’s Rylie chasing her soccer ball…Molly likes to watch (see the white dot by the fence ..well that’s Molly.)

A little sewing and a little playing…a little sewing, a lot of playing…Hard to think of Christmas isn’t it?  Thanks Joanna and Quilt Sue for another great Christmas Quilt-A-Long!!

Have a SUNNY Sunday and Happy Quilting!~P

  11. Paulette, I want to use some perle coton and can't figure out how to pull out the thread and thread my needle! Have you had this problem? I checked the DMC site but they don't tell you the secret to pulling off a length of perle coton. It just won't come loose. Here's my email: ruthwheel@gmail.com If you can help me I'd appreciate it.
