It was meant to be….

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the sweetest Christmas centerpiece that was on Anne’s blog, Cotton and Wool. I REALLY want to make it! …(you can see it HERE).  I was even telling a friend about it last week… wondering where in the world I could get my hands on an old flour sieve in Palm Springs…and before Christmas!

Can  you can imagine my surprise when I spotted THIS at a Garage Sale this weekend?!!  It was meant to be…come to mama!

YAHOO!!  I practically danced down the driveway!!  AND it was only $2!!  Score!!

Then later in the day, with my 60% off coupon in hand, I bought the ‘rest of the ingredients’!  Brown wool..berries, Christmas candies and pine boughs….

Sure hope Anne doesn’t mind sharing her idea….  What do you say Anne??

While I wait for Anne’s reply…

This is what we did yesterday…we had our first Barbeque of the season!

We started off outside but by the time the sun set we needed to get inside…the desert cools down quickly!

Kim and Don arrived yesterday (centre couple)…. Yahoo! Another Clubhouse Quilter!!  Along with Russ and Donna on the right and Karen and Ken on the left!  Nothing like breaking bread with new friends and old…

In between RV talk (men talk) we women got in our ‘quilt talk’ and Black Friday plans…we have now synchronized our watches for 8am Friday morning!!  This is our first Black Friday…start your engines, girls!!

Have a terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P

  7. Great idea, I'm going to be looking for one of those thingy's to make a center piece. I've been hearing ad's for Canadian Black Friday, I wonder if they'll have good sales.

  8. OK, this is the FIRST year you are doing Black Friday and you aren't starting until 8:00?!?!?! Forget it, stay in bed, or go to breakfast. Its over by 8AM here!! SOME of the stinking stores (~LOL~) are opening at 10PM Thursday to beat the 4AM rush. too sad.

But...Enjoy Thanksgiving. You all look like a fun bunch.

  9. You are one lucky person, Paulette, finding that sieve! Way to score! That's such a cute idea; can't wait to see your version. We are having nothing short of a monsoon here up north! You're not missing a thing! Please send some sun!

  10. I'll chime in with Carol! 8am is way too late to start. Except for the mall, most stores here are opening at 10-12pm Thanksgiving evening. i have to say, it's kind of fun!
