I have been busy prepping my projects to take down south with us. (We leave right after Christmas!!) My “Homemade Friends” wool runner in a bin, complete with scissors, needles and threads…waiting patiently for the journey!
Last night I started prepping ‘Snowy Days’ by Heart to Hand…
I reversed the pattern onto the Heat n’Bond Lite…
Then I prepped the backing wool…which I agonized over. Then I thought how often do you say…“Look at that background”? NEVER…you are too busy looking at the appliqué! So I stopped fretting…and went with the flow…
Block one…all glued down…
Block Two…(I just snipped some eyes so that you could see what this snowman will look like)
And I found him a home…he’s looking a little lonely, don’t you think?!
Block Three…
And this was as far as I got…Hey, the snowman is looking much happier!
Three more blocks to build before this one goes into a bin!
These two projects will provide me with tons of stitching for the ride down to Sunny Southern California!! My hope is that this will be the ONLY snow that we’ll encounter in our travels over those mountain passes! Fingers crossed!
Have a Terrific Tuesday and Happy Quilting!~P
Oh! Snowman is growing!!
ReplyDeleteVery cute!!
I am wishing Snowman's wonderful finish.:))
Oh wow...I love snowmen and this is going to be one super duper quilt!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cute! I can't wait to see the finished product! I can feel the crisp air just looking at it! It finally got cold here so I'm having a flannel giveaway. I thought about you and I'm looking for a pic of a flannel penny rug I saw at a show once. When I find it, I'll be sure to share it with you!
ReplyDeleteCheery wave!
Bev
I love the background, that is fun and now i want to go put something together.

Hey! You are quick! I have 2 of those heart in hand wool quilt patterns (different designs)... maybe I should pretend I'm going away after Christmas and I might just get something accomplished? lol!
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern too. I am collecting wool for this project and for the pumpkin (fall) one. Love love them both. Do you glue them down or iron on.Can't wait to see your progress on this.
ReplyDeleteoh you are so full of surprises my sister from another land...I am going to be prepping that one soon also! It is nice to know we think alike, lol
ReplyDeleteI have that pattern just haven't started it yet. Yours will be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Perfect project for your trip! Good luck with the winter roads.:)
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty warm down here, in the 80s this week, hopefully it cools off by the time you get here next month.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe it is already getting that time of year for your travels. You just know I'm loving this one!
ReplyDeleteYou've done the hardest part..tracing, cutting and tacking down..what do you use to tack them down? I use 505 spray and love it.
ReplyDeleteI only buy it at Fabric Depot here in Portland when I have my coupon..used to be 40& off and now they reduced them down to 35% off.
Snowmen are always a favorite. Looks like you are happily planning lots of projects for California.
ReplyDeleteSeems like you just got home from your US marathon stay and here you are getting ready to come back. You are smart to get projects prepped for the trip. I would want to haul my whole sewing room with me.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a great start!! I'm going to love seeing this one come together!!
