Ahhh yes… Black Friday!

Last year at this time, we were laying around The Sands RV Resort in Desert Hot Springs, basking in the sunshine…or at least hubby was!!  I was inside planning our FIRST EVER Black Friday shopping experience!!  Ahhhh yes…I remember it well!image

Much to Kim and Karen dismay, we rendezvoused before the sun was up …(the early bird DOES get the worm!!)  Here they are, in front of our first stop, JoAnn’s!!  What a glorious sight…with the sun just coming up…and NO LINE-UPS!

JoAnn’s opened up just for us…yes, we were the first ones through the door at 6am!!  AND it was so worth it!  We were there for a couple of hours and let me tell you, our buggies were FULL!  (Yes, those buggies are ours!)  We had a blast…!

Ahhh yes, I have fond memories of Black Friday!

I wonder if the girls will be going shop without me this year?  They better…and do me PROUD!!

So here I sit…:o(((…no Black Friday here in Canada…BUT that’s OK…BECAUSE….

AccuQuilt is having their own little Black Friday SALE!!  Yeeehaw!!  I think I’ll head on over and check out their DEALS…YUP…LOTS of DEALS!!  BUGGIES FULL of deals…and NO LINE-UPS and I get to sleep in!!  Hurry over NOW!!  Check it out HERE!

  3. I live one (yes one) block away from a large shopping mall (very large). My street is a dead end on one end and the other end is the street on which people drive to get to the giant mall. Black Friday is the beginning of the traffic jams! We have a sign that says "don't block intersection" but people don't read it. I've threatened to tape a flashing red light to the sign but I've been told that traffic control will just take it down. All the more reason to stay home and quilt!

    Cheery wave!

  5. Poor Paulette, relegated to trolling on-line sites for bargoons! Don't worry, some of the best things can be had for the best prices on-line, and often with free shipping. They just make it sooooooo easy to spend money this time of the year! Happy Happy!

  6. Never been to a Black Friday sale but think I'd brave the crowds in any Craft, Quilt, Wool, etc. store!

  7. That is the one time I do not shop, lol. I cannot handle the crazy people. I usually go to smaller shops during the holidays and the big ons on week days.

  9. Several years ago my daughters and I would get up early, stand in lines, be bumped around looking for all those great deals. I decided it wasn't worth it any more. I'm too old and fragile to come home bruised and shaken! Although....JoAnn's just might make me change my mind.

  10. Nope, no Black Friday sales here either. I have had an email today from Apple though (I so want an iPad) that they'll be having one and it'll be online, so maybe ....
