Enough Already!

This is how I feel…I have had enough already! haha

The Christmas tree is GONE and the decorations are packed and put away…and the kids have gone home…:o(  Christmas is over way too soon!!  Weeks of preparation over in a matter of hours!

It’s time for Mr. Sweet P and myself to turn into Snowbirds and fly this coop!! We pull out of here, in our 5th wheel, on Wednesday morning…we are trading the rain, mountains and rain forest for SUN, desert and palm trees!

But first we have some jobs to do…like packing~ yes first things first…got to get my stitching all ready for travel!! :o)

This is Summertime by Primitive Gather…block 1 all ready for hand stitching!!  (The colours are much nicer than this picture..the background fabric is a tea stained beige colour- not this mustard colour!!)

I also need to put the binding on this quilt so that I can finish it off while traveling…First things first!

P1110104Packing clothes, linens and food can wait just a bit longer….  Oh and I also have to clean the house so that our House Sitter has a place to hang his hat!!  He moves in on Wednesday afternoon…so I also need to clean out the bedroom closet and the dresser…BUT first things first…!

Have a marvelous Monday and Happy Quilting!~P

  1. Yes, Christmas always seems to be over too quickly after all the preparations! Ours will last another week until our youngest comes home for a few days with her family. You guys have fun in the warm sunshine.

  2. You are so organized, but I guess that the sunshine is calling you. Will be glad to see the west coast through your blog. Hope that the weather is good for your trip.

  3. I agree, you prioritized correctly Paulette! As did I - we're heading to Florida this morning and all of my stitching for the next five weeks is packed - everything else - not so much!
    Safe travels.

  4. Yes I agree. The hustle and bustle, two days with our family today quiet time. I might not even get out of my pjs. The house needs to be cleaned. Oh well there is always tomorrow. Have a safe trip.

  5. It is so nice you have a trip to look forward to and so much to do!!
I'm still pouting that my babies are gone and Christmas is over.

  6. This is the first year, I am glad to see it over, lol.
Now I can rest and try to heal and get going with my quilting. Lots of projects to finish and start this year.

  7. I'm glad Christmas has come and gone! Very little Christmas spirit here - just went through the motions. Ugh! LOL

I do believe you have your priorities in order - first things first. LOL

  8. snowing to beat the band here.. wish I had a trip to a warmer destination planned.

Had a great Christmas, love my family and friends and all their cheer. these thoughts will have to keep me warm for a few months.

Here is hoping you have a safe trip.

  9. That sounds like way too much work so soon after christmas. Where do you go when you become snowbirds?
Hope you have a wonderful time.
BTW what colouror number of floss did you use for you table cloth and was it pearl cotton?

    Thanks and Happy New Year

  10. Just love that cartoon.
You're oh-so-lucky to be a snowbird. I want to fly the coop with you!
Enjoy that gorgeous weather and please try to send some my way!

  11. Will you be driving thru the San Luis Obispo/Morro Bay area as you did last year?

Would be wonderful to connect in person Paulette!

    Elaine in SLO, Ca

PS: Clear, beautiful day today, rain expected Wednesday or Thursday. It has been a wet winter here...very unusual!

  12. I'm so jealous! It was 15° here when I got up this morning. In the spirit of honesty it is supposed to be 70° on Friday! But I hate the cold, even if it's just a few days here and a few days there. Where are you guys headed? blessings, marlene

  13. Oh you lucky person! I am so jealous..LOL It is so darn cold here at the moment I long for some sunshine... Linda

  14. have a great flight, you snowbirds..would you like my address so you can mail me that quilt in the last picture!!! it.!! :)

  15. Wow, I feel like I just read your "I'm all decorated" post and now it's all away already! You'll have a couple of busy days, but then you get to sit back and stitch for a few while hubby chauffeurs, so it will be all worth it. Have a safe drive down.

Even though you'll be blogging, I feel like I'll miss you knowing you're not just across the Strait!

  16. Have a wonderful adventure. It was fun to "see" your travels last year through your blog! I think like you when getting ready for a trip. I get sewing projects lined up even before my clothes.

  17. Have a good trip south! Knowing you, I'm sure we will see many more projects while you are travelling.....and lots more new ones bought, too.

  18. I hope you keep us posted on where and what you're doing- I always love following you and enjoy the pictures you share.:) Think of us in the snow and cold! Have a safe, fun trip!:)

  19. I saved that Maxine - I'm going to print it out and hang it by my computer, cuz that is me EVERY DAY! Wow you're leaving Wednesday - well I'm looking forward to the trip report! Happy packing!

  20. We didn't put a tree up this year so our neighbour had a 3ft already lit tree which she graciously loaned us so there was a place for the gifts.
Since we are both in bionic states, me with the new hip and my sweetie awaiting a new knee, we thought we'd just bring in pots of flowers for the season.
They are starting to drop leaves, so it's almost over for us too.
Whew, it is a whirlwind experience while it lasts though.
    Drive safely...Happy New Year too!
