Do you remember the movie “The Jerk” with Steve Martin?..and if you do…do you remember the part in the movie where he gets the new Phone Book and proceeds to run around screaming with excitement because he sees his name in the book. Sounds dumb..but VERY funny in the movie! WELL…that’s how I felt when I FINALLY saw these in our stores!
Yes, waving these two magazines up high, I went screaming up and down the aisles shouting “The NEW Quilting Magazines are out!! The New Quilting Magazines are out!!” :o)
Now YOU have been talking about these magazines for at least a month while we Canadians have been ‘up here’ drooling…I wonder why it takes so long to cross the border? Do you think it’s because the Custom’s Officers want first crack and are sitting in the back room perusing OUR magazines?!! Food for thought…isn’t it?
There is nothing I can add that hasn’t already been said about these wonderful magazines EXCEPT check out page 43 of the Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Magazine….do you see what I see? Yup…It’s a Wool Crazy Crow (sorry about the crumby picture) AND yes it’s been made and designed by OUR own JoAnn Mullaly!! I wonder if she ran up and down her street waving her copy screaming “I’M IN THE QUILTMAKER!! I’M IN THE QUILTMAKER!”
Just in case she DIDN’T..then I NEED to do it for her… “JOANN’S IN THE QUILTMAKER!!! JOANN’S IN THE QUILTMAKER!!”
Yeah…JoAnn! Way to go!!
I also NEED to show you what else I ‘found’. In our 5th wheel, my side of the bed has no night table and in our test run I really missed having one…so I bought THREE of these (I was too lazy to run upstairs for the third). So you’re smart - picture three stacked high…with the smaller one on top…do you see where I’m going…huh, huh, HUH…nightstand AND storage…how great is that!! Top one for my magazines, middle one for books and third one for all those fat quarters that I’m going to buy. ☺ Hey, a girl’s got to plan ahead!!…Hmmmm…Do you think I need a fourth box?
Well I am off to Heritage Quilting!! I am on hostess duties today..my first time!!…and my pumpkin spice cake looks like a brick! But you know quilters…WE love to eat! Enough said!…Got to go!
Have a marvelous Monday and Happy Quilting!~P
Have fun today! Thanks for sharing Joann's awesome news!
ReplyDeleteLove your night stand. You are always thinking....great idea. Happy sewing!!
ReplyDeleteClever nightstand idea. In a 5th wheel you need all the storage you can find for those shopping sprees on the road. Loved your tutorial about making little boxes out of cards. Can't wait to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get up to Jo anns today and see what they have, but I have enough to do as it is, so better that I can't, lol.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
You definitely need a fourth! I LOVE stuffing fabric finds under the bed in our RV.Great hidy spot!!
ReplyDeleteMiss Paulette, you are too funny! And I think you are right about the customs officials and their perusing!
ReplyDeleteYes, quilters will eat anything, don't worry about how it looks. You poor Canadians....I won a copy of the 100 Blocks a while ago! Great magazine! Hope you have a fun day.
ReplyDeleteI love your nightstand, and it really was so creative. You always have such great ideas!
ReplyDeleteMicki
Love the boxes, everything sounds great.
ReplyDeleteLOL, I can just see you running around screaming! How fun! I love your nightstand, but I have a feeling that by the time you get home, there will be no room for the bed...it will all be boxes, lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat thinking Sweet P! Never can have enough storage for our quilting treasures right! Hope your hostess duties went well. Your tutorial on the little boxes is the best recycling idea for cards to date!
ReplyDeleteHuh, you think you have problems? Those magazines STILL aren't available here in the UK. Your storage idea is brilliant but yes, I suspect that you need another box! Still that's the advantage with modular furniture isn't it? You can always add to it at any time.
ReplyDeleteI think that a fourth storage box is definitely called for. Just thinking ahead for you.
ReplyDeleteDumbest movie of all time! I LOVED it!!
ReplyDeletelove the boxes, well just spare a thought for me & the other UK quilters we not got these magazines & it not even because they are held up at customs poor us lol
