Yesterday was housecleaning day. Whenever I clean the bathrooms I use an old toothbrush to clean around the little nooks and crannies…I’m not going to say where..but let’s just say the bathrooms were shining and spotless when I was finished!
Later in the day I was getting ready to run some errands and while I ‘dolled myself up’ I gave my teeth a brushing…well you guessed it! I had accidently put the cleaning toothbrush in the toothbrush holder and I was brushing my teeth with it!!!..that is before I realized that the taste I was experiencing wasn’t minty fresh!! I have never gargled with Listerine so much or brushed my teeth so often as I did yesterday!! Let’s just say my teeth have never been so shiny, clean or my breath so Pinesol-ly fresh! I have given new meaning to the phrase..POTTY MOUTH! Ohhhhh… I really don’t want to think about it…bling…bling (I just smiled…)
On the quilting front~ I now have FIVE blocks cut out of Settler’s Pride…they are in Ziploc bags ready to be stitched on to the black background fabric. (Only four more blocks and borders to cut out!!) I have been avoiding doing the basket block as there is major drawing to be done…it’s going to be a morning job!
This is the floor in my sewing room…YIKES!! Got to get this done before the wool takes over…I can see tomorrow’s blog post… Buried Alive- May She Rest In Piece(s)!
Seriously- thank you for all your comments yesterday..encouraging me to “Get ’er done!!” You really are the BEST!!
I got the binding on my Sticks and Stones quilt- my SECOND FINISH for December…and it’s only December 4rd!! I am smoking HOT!! And doesn’t she look pretty!! I think she is going to rest on the back of the couch over Christmas…
I wish I had picked a plain backing so that you could REALLY see Quilt Sue’s incredible quilting!! When I bought the background fabric I thought I would be quilting it, so of course I selected fabric that would HIDE my quilting!! :o)
Thanks again, Quilt Sue! This is one quilt that I will treasure FOREVER! My next job is to make an appropriate label that will tell the story of how this quilt traveled all the way to England and back again! Things like that only happen in Blogland!!
Have a super Saturday and Happy Quilting!~P
and there goes my need for lunch........ :o)
ReplyDeletebut rest assured, you aren't the only one to do something like that.
Oh Paulette! What is there to say?
ReplyDeleteI guess I missed show and tell of Quilt Sue's awesome quilting? Will you bring it again one day?
See you Monday.
I'm a biology teacher and every year we go around campus and collect bacterial from the 'clean' and 'dirty' places and grow it on petri dishes. Every year, the kids think the toilet is going to be dirty and every year, that is the cleanest place! So, rest assured, while you may not like the taste, you aren't going to die :)
ReplyDeleteYUCK....too much info Paulette! Poor thing you...I could only imagine!!
ReplyDeleteOh my!! I think I would have hyperventilated after realizing I had used the wrong toothbrush!! Glad to see you're still here!!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear things are working out with the pattern you're cutting out. Couldn't believe the issues you're having to deal with. Can't wait to see your progress when you're able to start working on it!
It really is hard to laugh and gag at the same time. I'll stick with the laughing. I've enjoyed the comments as well.

Love, love, love, love Sticks & Stones! It is so gorgeous and now with Sue's quilting, one that I covet!
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you are doing well on the cutting of the pattern and not getting frustrated. I don't know if I could have done that well.
ReplyDeleteYour Sticks and Stones is so beautiful. The label will be a great interest to your family as it gets past down.
And last but not least.... No one can say you have a "potty mouth" anymore! LOL!
Oh yuk! I use an old toothbrush for cleaning all those small important places.....but I have an electric toothbrush for my teeth!! No mistakes in this house LOL. Linda
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI got the BOM form the country loft & i think the directions need some tuning. But that is me. I have almost 2 blocks done. I just want it to look prefect but nothing every looks or should be perfect.

I just found your blog today - what an introduction. I am getting over the flu and the laughing hurt my poor side muscles - but I enjoyed the story just the same. It even sounds like something I might do.
ReplyDeleteI love your christmas quilt - looks great for the holidays.
Oh and EWE!!! GROSS!!!! So sorry for ya!
ReplyDeleteI use old tooth brushes too, but definitely throw them under the sink when I'm done. =)
Love the mess. =)
Paulette!!!!!!!!!!! BLahghhhh! I even got a yucky taste in my mouth right before I realized what you were going to say with that one! YUCKO! Guess I better go get some chocolate ;) Love ya!
ReplyDeleteI have a toothbrush that is used only for cleaning my silver jewellery .... I think it will be moved to another location and a label put on it.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous quilt and so perfect for this time of year!!
This post has made me giggle for 5 minutes!! Yucky, but very funny images in my mind! Also!!! I just Love the quilt that is residing on the back of your sofa through this season!! It is soo nice !! Thanks for always keeping me interested in checking in with you! Christmas Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that potty story. That must have been awlful but I am going to laugh over it all day. You have a great sense of humor to share and in such a fun manner. Love and thanks Lois
ReplyDeleteBlech!!! :-P I have to admit though that I laughed because my first thought was 'that's the definition of real potty mouth' - then you said practically the same thing. LOL
ReplyDeleteSticks & Stones is beauitful.
Baby steps with Settler's Pride - you'll do it. :-)
CA-CA as my kids would say. I had to cover my mouth from laughing so hard. I feel for ya! Good thing I wasn't drinking my breakfast smoothie while reading. I can just see the splatter on the computer screen.
ReplyDeleteWow your Sticks and Stones is gorgeous! I am so sorry about the toothbrush incident. My son just dug into the trash can last night because he could not find his retainers. He came in with a disgusted look on his face, retainers in hand. We bathed the retainers in Peroxide and hot water several times :-(
ReplyDeleteoh gross! I made the mistake of using the kids old toothbrushes once for that very same purpose. I then put them under the sink thinking they would be safe under there. The next time I went into the kids bathroom my son had pulled out his old toothbrush out from under the sink and had used it. I was so grossed out and it wasn't even my mouth!
ReplyDeletethat reminds me of the time i put my hot choc spoon in the painting water cup and then back into my mouth...yuck.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful. can't wait to see your next finish.
Where might I find the pattern for Sticks and Stones? Very pretty! Is it shown on another post?
ReplyDeleteOh dear Paulette...you will watch those tooth brushes now and put them away in a safe place...
ReplyDeletethe quilt looks gorgeous..
Julia ♥
Totally gross. I brushed my teeth with my jewelry polishing toothbrush once, but you've far outdone me! Euwwwwww!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! That's just disgusting but funny at the same time. I was reading your post at the same time as I was talking to my friend on the phone. She laughed and said that was something she would do. So you're not alone.
ReplyDeleteOh, you poor gal.
ReplyDeleteThere's something you'll re-living for too long a while.
Holiday Hugs,
Gerry
O ick...then I realized..since I just had all my teeth pulled, I won't have to worry about doing THAT!!
ReplyDeleteFa La La!
YUK! At least it was your own bathroom you were cleaning. Does that help? Has Rick kissed you or are you still off limits? The reason this happens is because Quilters are designing in their head all the time and do housework on auto pilot. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteMarge
nothing like the wonders of internet for making new 'blogging friends'..the quilt is beautiful!..kudos to both of you for your fine quilt-man-ship!!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine it!! Awful. That's one of those things you'll just have to throw out of your head! On a happier note, looks like your are getting a lot accomplished!
ReplyDeleteOh man....I pulled a muscle laughing over this....thank goodness I wasn't drinking my coffee at the time, lol! Oh Paula that is hysterical. Send it to Reader's Digest, I think they pay $300 for something like that.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt looks so beautiful on your couch!
That is GROSS!! But I did giggle out loud cause it really is funny too! Reminded me of when I was a kid and got my mouth washed out with soap... not a good taste at all, and I tasted it for days.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is gorgeous, wow I love it and it looks perfect on the couch.
I loved your story so much and could not stop laughing that i had to call my hubby over to read it to him. And i call my mom and friend to read it to them we all got a great laugh.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Oh YUKK, is all I can say. (Well, it isn't but it's all I'm going to say!)
ReplyDeleteAre you ok? Not feeling dizzy or going green? Very funny story. House work can be detrimental to your health - literally!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Bet you won't make that mistake again!
ReplyDeleteI think you should switch to an electric toothbrush...that mistake won't be made again, lol.
ReplyDeleteMarcy
Oh my goodness!! I feel the need to brush my teeth now, LOL! I love your Sticks and Stones quilt. Wow you are really far on that wool project. Great for you. It will be so beautiful when you are done.
